Shesa - a couple of tunes for waking up (not).

Posbear - We have a couple of light snow storms, but still able to navigate. Sadie loves the snow BTW.

Trish - Time to lay in a supply of JD.

Everyone else - keep up the good work and stay safe and well.

The work men have been and gone and I have a 17 x 21 Foot dog run and 4 new windows to replace some that were not working correctly. There is one that is faulty, it won't stay up when you open it and no screen so I have notified the contractor. He was supposed to be here yesterday, but no show and same today. Eek! It isn't his fault, I think it's a manufacturing fault.

Sadie got muddy yesterday and was in 7th heaven until I put her in the bath tub and tried to rinse off her feet. Got it done but I think it will be awhile before I get her back in the tub. For one thing, she's heavy anymore. We had to have another lesson in answering my call last night - at midnight, of course. I hope I didn't wake the neighborhood. On top of not answering she decided to herd cats with barking. Sheesh! No complaints yet, knock on wood. We had an outing to the post office and she was fairly good. I managed to keep her from jumping on everyone but her friend Christina, the clerk. They have a history. She tried with her though. She was very good at loading, waiting, and unloading. She really hates to be left behind.

Sadie hasn't learned to operate the dog doors yet. I must clean the one into the kitchen, but I've decided to work on the one from the garage to her run first. It is an extreme weather one so once she gets the hang of that one, the other will be a piece of cake. Gary's grandkids were here for Halloween and Sadie was very glad to see them. She jumped all over them. Moe work to be done.

I bowled a 130 the last game Wednesday night, but I noticed my ball has a big crack in it. It ends in the thumb hole, so we shall see where it goes from there. The proprietor says we can sand out the thumb hole.

The puppy next door is growing before my eyes, just like Sadie did. She has got the longest tail - a real coffee spiller. I will have to get a picture, I think she is a Rottweiler.

That's all I got for now, the sun is in my eyes as I haven't got the blinds back on the windows yet. I do have the new license plates on the pickup, so that job is done for 3 or 4 years now.

    Love ya all!

    Greetings

Welcome Annie! Nice to have you visit the lounge

Thanks for the update Wyo, your little furball sure is one big character!
One of my sons had a border collie, it became too much for his partner to cope with when he was at work so he had it re-homed. First rehome sent it back after a week! Second one had a farm..perferct

Well, not much has changed here so nothing exiting to report, wake, list, sleep and repeat.
Have got 1310 items now in 4 stores. Thank goodness for Ninja Lister, it's great for organisation and it provides me with a spreadsheet every time I save my data.
I will need to get more photos and scanning done soon, I am running out of pictures fast!

Saturday choon time..from Tunisia, best enjoyed with volume UP!

    Stay safe and warm

Have been a bit busy with work over the weekend. Nothing wrong with your tunes Pos, loved the Myrath track and Yousef / Cat Stevens has been a favourite right from my school days.

I hope everyone else is keeping well and the weather is ok, we have had a right miserable day today, peeing it down all day.

So how about a few more tunes from the collection.

    Sydney Youngblood

    Retta Young

    Yellow Magic Orchestra

    Yardbirds

    XTC

    Mark Wynter

    Pete Wylie

    Ruby Wright

    Betty Wright

Johnny Worth This last one is one from Woolworth's own lable Embassy Records. Anyone remember them, cover versions of hits for about half the price of the originals. I have a few in my collection.

G'day all - Yeah, not a lot happening 'round here of late.
We've had a few nasty storms go by & I got my first lot of hail since moving here nearly 4 years ago.
Fortunately it only ranged in size from large rice to peas, so I was lucky. The tanks are overflowing again, & the grass is ankle high!

I'm off again this Sunday to my steel geetar meeting (not playing this trip - too lazy!) & staying at Bro's overnight to wet our whistles, & pick up a new orchid.
It has cooled down again due to the overcast conditions & it will remain in the 21c - 28c range for the next week + "they" say?

Great choons mix people & thought I'd try to add some vintage Oz stuff to the mix. Enjoy! Hope y'all R well

Wow! Great seletion of choons there
Books likes making me feel old by talking about Embassy records from Woollies.
Pete Wylie, what a song and what a guy, still belting them out today.

    Now then Old!
Seems like you just published your best ever choon list, although not too impressed with the Beach Boy copycats the rest on the list were impressive.
Lots of stuff I hadn't heard of and will add to my 'listen again' list.

Now lets get back to proper choons
How about an instrumental from Nightwish featuring Nordic bagpipes
    It's a foot tapper!

    Shes baaaack!!!!!

Hubby started using "vibrate" on his phone alarm and keeps it under his pillow so the OSU fight song is history and I've been getting a full night's sleep, plus naps here and there to catch up and I'm feeling more "normal" - not that I have ever been "normal". LOL!!! I hadn't realized that it had been almost 3 months since I'd gotten a decent, full night's sleep. Thank the Good Lord that He watches over children and fools because just a few days before I realized I was suffering from sleep deprivation, I'd been home alone and up the big ladder working on the roof! DUH!!!

My ISP has added a new feature "The Video Data Extender is a free tool that streams video at DVD quality, optimized for 480p, so you can watch more - while using less data. This helps you get more out of your monthly data allowance." YEA!! Now I can listen to all the choons and not worry about running out of bandwidth at the end of the month!! At least the ones I'm "allowed" to view - that whole situation still irritates me but I guess they are just "protecting" their investments!!

OLD - I see you had a "smashing" time with your "shine connection"!! LOL!!! How's your face??? You know you can't see "stray bikinis" with your face planted in the ground! LOL!!! With all that grass, you could do one in your yard without much damage! Looking forward of seeing pics of the new orchid as soon as it blooms!! Nice list of choons - I liked the beat of the "Australian Crawl". Here's a "Crawl" song for ya:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LGa_0OV8vE
One of my favorite drinks used to be "Watermelons" and trust me, if you drink them like I used to, you will be crawling IF you can! I forget what all was in them, but they sure were good!! Got a "bad" story about the first time I ever drank them but, I'll refrain from boring you!

Here's a version for the ladies in the lounge - if you can get it to come up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e8BtI-rac4

I'm with Pos on the Beach Boys - nothing beats the "originals". I got to see them back in the 70's and "what's left of them" about 5 years ago. "Odd" how I can't remember what I did yesterday but can remember all the words to the "Oldies" - LOL!!

POS - you're going "full speed ahead" with the listings - well done!!!! When you get done with your listing, you can come help me with mine???? I've never heard of "Night Wish" but I looked them up and see they are touring the US in 2018. She has a beautiful voice!! The one you just posted with the bagpipes was good too!!

MAELBRIGDA - I hadn't heard of "The Sisters" either - I kind of skipped over Goth, as my real life was dark enough at that time, but I sure am getting an education on here

BOOKS - Omina - WOW!! I was taught years ago that the hypothalamus contains all the memories of our ancestors and I believe it to be true. Their music (as all Celtic music) really stirred something deep in me. Thanks for that one!!

Hearing Ruby Wells reminded me that I have a program from a 1960's concert in Sioux Falls, SD that is signed by Ruby, mom Kitty Wells, dad Johnny Wright and Waylon Jennings. Wonder where that is?? No, I didn't attend that concert - LOL!!!

I remember the same "My Sharona" as Old but couldn't view his link. I did search for another one and found the "The Story Behind The Knack's My Sharona" Hope the link works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wltGjeZAwKU

ANNIE - Disco - oh, yea!! LOL!! I usually get my "disco fix" once a year at the local outdoor festival in Clifton. Through the day, most of the bands are country, rock, Southern rock but they always end with a disco band. I didn't get to stay for it this year, so thanks for the fix!

WYO - you're right about the wake up choons! I'll stick with his phone being on vibrate under his pillow
Sadie sure is keeping you busy!! Has she learned how to get out of the dog run yet?? She is going through her "terrible 2's" and "this too shall pass". Hang in there! The only canines I've ever had that did not go through that "terrible 2's" stage were ones that were not raised with the rest of the litter. I got my wolf when she was 4 days old and my dingo at 4 weeks. Neither had any "play time" with litter mates and were easy to train, except it took me over a year to get Jake to stop nipping at my heels!! LOL!!

Did you have to mention Rottie?? I really miss mine I keep hoping that one will just come strolling down the road one day looking for a home. A Great Dane would be welcome too Maybe I need to work on my manifesting abilities????

I finally got the porch painted. Had fans running on it, as rain was predicted the second night. The last to paint was the trim and it did not get dry enough before the rain came so that needs a do over - just waiting for a day above 60 with no rain predicted!!

My neighbor that passed in May had a "lady friend" in AL and she had been wanting to come up and visit his grave. She finally made it up Saturday and I spent the day with her. My friend that has cancer is not doing well at all. His lung has been collapsing and they have him in hospital in Nashville for surgery. I don't think he is even strong enough to go through surgery......

Hubby and I went out to the "Biker Bar" so he could play pool on Saturday night. One of the bartenders was off that night but was in there and I spent most of the night talking with her - it was good to "catch up" as she is usually too busy at the bar to have a conversation - lol! I also got to spend the day with my "bestie" yesterday shopping!! She is going to have her 2nd knee surgery after the first of the year and has been working double shifts so she can take 4 months off to recoup, so I haven't had much time with her this year.

I'm having my first "Official" pajama day!! Makes me feel like a "naughty kid getting away with something" - LOL!! It's cold enough today that I can slip on my coveralls when I go feed and nobody will know I'm still in my PJs!!

Y'all take care!! See ya next time......

    G'day all

Hate to have to tell you this folks but, The Deltones formed in 1958 - The Beach Boys formed in 1961 - so, just who copied who is debatable.
"Hangin' Five" may have been influenced by the BB's, as it was recorded in 1963, but, there were heaps of other surf bands around both in the US & here, well before the BB's.
What the BB's had was a "new" sound & style which included close harmonies, but they didn't invent surf music! They were the most successful at it however.
BTW, the Deltones were still performing until last year, & are currently listed as "on hiatus" which means they may still do some work?

Shesa, the only link of yours that worked for me is the Watermelon choon!

Here's another Oz surf band The Atlantics who formed in 1961 (same time as the BB's) & this was their first hit, which was also recorded in 1963 - "Bombora"

PS. forgot to say that The Atlantics are also still a working band!

Well, sorry about your luck with the links, Old Hopefully, it wasn't the "ladies" version you had to watch? LOL!! I remembered the ingredients for Watermelons - Fifth of Southern Comfort, Fifth of Sloe Gin and can of pineapple juice. It was a tradition for the Superbowl Parties we hosted.

Thanks for the edumacation on the Surf bands. I remember watching the "Beach Party Movies" when I was young and just couldn't wait to go to California. Needless to say, by the time I got there in the late 70's, it was nothing like the movies - LOL!! The Del Tones are actually mentioned in the article link - I guess, as a child, I just thought it was all BB music.

I have to get some work done today, so I'd better get outta here or I'll end up watching vids all day again!!

    Y'all take care!!
