Thread: Cocktails!!! and Music

Shes - I am not snowed in yet, but not for the lack of trying! Monday night it snowed and Tuesday morning we had wind which makes for Wyo's horizontal snow, always so much fun. Glad I don't have outside animals to feed. It is hard sometimes to convince Missy On to go outside, but so far she has braved the front yard although sometimes it was right on the step. Not predicted, but woke up to the same thing this morning. It has stopped snowing and the sun is out now, but the winds is still blowing making it good and cold - Brrrr! I think the snow stopped about 11 am.

2 weeks ago Sunday I was on the computer, way too late and I think I fainted. I had shut off the computer and was sitting on my bed feeling very hot and I woke up a few minutes later to laying down and wet pajamas. Scary! No recurrence and feeling fine since albeit a bit nervous for awhile.

I was going to list my teddy bears on the hand made site, but discovered they were all purchased after 1997 which takes them out of the "vintage" category, I was hoping for. Doing laundry too.

I was invited out for dinner, but cancelled as it was a white out when I woke up.

TRISH - You just hang in there!!! Being a "human pincushion" is no fun at all!!! And I totally understand all the stress and depression - unfortunately it is NORMAL with your un-normal circumstances. Ignorance may be bliss, but it is best to find out so you can deal with it head on. (Says the pot to the kettle!) I've had a hard lump behind my ear for 3 years now. My former doctor insisted it was in my Eustachian tube despite the fact that 2 different ENTs (Ear, Nose, Throat doctors) stating in writing that it is in my lymph node. I've been hoping it will go away but it hasn't, so I asked my new doctor what she thought it was (without telling her anything) and she said "lymph". I've just been waiting for things to slow down a bit for me so I can gather all my paperwork and test results and take them in to her and get a referral to a lymph specialist who will probably be in Nashville - 100 miles one way and I hate big cities with their traffic!! But, I do need to find out, as you do, exactly what is going on so it can be taken care of. Really "feelin' for ya".

On the positive side - at least you have a SHAPE - even if it is like a fiddle! I just look like a stick! LMBO!!!

I hate to admit it but I'm walking the same path as you and Buttons - most of the things that happen to me are odd and due to being in a hurry!!! The words "slow down" have never been in my vocabulary - there's only one of me and only 24 hours in a day. I practice "scream management" - what ever is screaming at me the loudest gets taken care of first and the screaming never stops - LOL!! I've had to develop tunnel vision so the pile of totes (items to be listed) and the flooring that needs to be finished can be out of sight and I can relax and watch a bit of TV at night! Maybe ask Santa for a pair of horse blinders for C-mas???? I'll post a pic if I get any!! LOL!!!

I'm trying to rest my knee as much as possible and am totally amazed at how fast the cut on my hand is healing. It probably should have had a stitch or two but with it so open, I've been able to dump echinacea powder into it and not only does it have antibacterial properties, it heals wounds really fast!! In just 3 days it has completely healed inside and I'm almost back to normal usage again I'm sure it will leave a scar but that's just another to add to my collection, including the one on my knee when I tried to shave my legs with a skillsaw - but that's another story

Side note - I really hope that no one is ever offended by my laughing at serious things like illness and injury. It's just my way of coping. The alternative is to cry and that just gives me a headache and makes my face all puffy!!

YEA!!!! I don't have to go up and dig WYO out!!! Brrrrr..... is right! Nothing on the prairie to stop the endless winds from blowing and the howling and whistling is insane! When I'm wanting to complain about the cold wind blowing here, I stop and remind myself that I could STILL be living in SD!! Did you get any thunder snow? I'm right up there with Jim Cantore (Weather Channel) when it comes to thunder snow

Good heavens, WYO!! A "spell" like that would scare me too! You're lucky you were on your bed and didn't fall and hit your head on something!!! I'm glad it hasn't happened again but (not to make your fears any worse) it sounds like you possibly had a TIA. Years ago when I was in real estate in CO and the housing market took a nose dive, a co-worker (in her 50s) couldn't pay her rent and came to live with us. She had episodes just like that and would not see a doctor because of the expense. No computers back then so I had to go to the library to research and discovered she was having TIAs. I couldn't stay home 24/7 to keep an eye on her so I called her sister in NY and told her what was going on. Sister sent a plane ticket and we got her things in storage and sent her to NY. 6 months later she was gone. PLEASE talk to your doctor about it. Sorry for the lecture, but I'm very concerned.

OLD - love your turkey cartoon!! LOL!! When I was little, my grandparents had an old Tom that ran loose on the farm. For some reason that Tom took a dislike to me and chased and flogged me every time I got out of the car. Nobody else, just me!! I will enjoy watching the wild turkeys here from a distance but will never have any on my place. Getting flogged and spurred by my roosters is bad enough. I'm a huge animal lover but when one tries the "get the boot" across the yard and if that doesn't teach them - they are gone!

Better get a move on - don't know what the day is going to bring. We were supposed to go out to eat and do some shopping yesterday but didn't because of my knee - no way I'll venture out on Black Friday so shopping is off the table, but I'll get up to something as I'm bored to tears with resting!!

    Y'all take care!!

    Shes

    Hello all!

Sun shining today, but more snow predicted for Sunday night - ick!

Everything is quiet here. I remembered yesterday that I should be parking my pickup facing South so I don't have to scrape so much ice off the windshield. The natural direction for my driveway is North, then I end up with the driver side closest to the back door. Anyway so, I went out yesterday scraped the ice off and did some errands around town and then parked facing South.

I have some neighbors on the South side of town, they are in their 80's and he gets a grant to help pay for some of his medicine. It is time to renew the grant and the organization had sent them a letter saying they could now do it on the internet and letting them know they could be checking their credit rating. This shook her all up. She refuses to have the internet as she is a writer and doesn't want access to her files exposed to the internet. I can't say that I blame her and sometimes I think it is a good idea as paranoid as she can get. So, anyway I went down to "interpret" and discovered she could also do the work over the phone. So I left her with that idea, and she called this morning to let me know that it was an ordeal, but she got it done. Now she is worrying that they will get the credit check done by 12/01. I think they get about $7,000 paid on his prescription so it is a big deal to them.

Shes, try not to worry about me too much - it will turn your hair gray. At least that's what my Dad told me. I will see about starting a relationship with a doc next week. I hate Dr.'s, but I guess it's about time.

A good day. Took one of my children to IKEA to buy stuff for their new flat, and used a 15% off voucher to make £102 cost £87. Really cold weather so drank some of my blackberry wine with a slug of cheap Port when I got home. You know what they say, Any port in a storm.

    Beautiful English...

I called an old school friend and asked what he was doing. He replied that he was working on

"Aqua-thermal treatment of ceramics, aluminium and steel under a constrained environment."

    I was impressed...

On further inquiring, I learned that he was washing dishes with hot water .......under his wife's supervision.

Animal Farm was required reading in Junior High, but I never "got" that it was political satire until much later in life. Maybe I dozed off in class during the lecture, because I do remember sitting in the back of the room by the heater - lol! Another required reading, Ray Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder", is one that has never left my mind.

WYO - I remember the "south parking rule" I assume you also have a block heater?? I thought that was one of the best things invented when I first learned about them. Glad you will be going to the doctor - I'll only worry "a tad bit" but I've already got some gray hair - they are just "in disguise" I hate doctors too but am going to have to give in and go see about this knee if it doesn't start getting any better. I'm sure it would help if I stayed completely off it but then nothing would get done and I'd have an Animal Farm Revolution if the critters didn't get fed. I'm hoping that it turns out to be something relatively mild like low blood pressure.

That was really nice of you to help that 80's something couple out. My mom will be turning 80 and refuses to get a computer (she has admitted ONCE that she would get one but knows she would get addicted to it - lol!) so if she wants to know something she just calls me. And I kind of have to agree about being paranoid but hacking has been going on much longer than we've been made aware of and I figure if I was going to get hacked it would already have happened. I don't even worry about my financial stuff because there's not enough of anything for them to get and if they want to pay my bills, that's fine with me

BILL - good to see you on here I'm glad you had a nice shopping day with with one of your children and got some good deals! Homemade Blackberry wine is very popular here, as the berries grow everywhere. Being dirt poor when I first moved here, I saw an ad in the paper from somebody wanting to buy blackberries and pay $5 a quart. So, I braved the snakes and the briars and went and picked a gallon. Got back to call them and the paper said BLUEberries!! DUH!!

"Aqua-thermal treatment of ceramics, aluminum and steel under a constrained environment." LMBO!!!!

    Y'all have a great day!!

    Shes
