eg. boys are being stuck with "Apollo" & the like
Also have been informed that in one photo, the poor child looks like yours truly! & there's a chance they may be released from hospital tomorrow?

On that subject, herewith are some handy conversions from US to Imperial & metric measurements, for the benefit of those outside the US.

1 US gallon = 3.78 litres
1 US quart = 0.946 litres (close enough to equal 1 to 1)
1 Imperial gallon = 4.54 litres or 1.2 US gallons.

A lovely day here, no sign of frosts yet, so the tropicals can stay outdoors and in the greenhouse for a while longer. Sheesh - I hate winter, the only good thing about it is I don't have to iron all of JR's work shirts - just the collar, as he wears a jumper ...lol!!

OMG Old, that's a bit cruel calling a kid Bacchus, Adonis, Zeus or Poseidon and the likes - yikes! Imagine a classroom full of little Gods and Goddesses in a few years time ...hee-hee! I have to admit though that I do like some of the Goddesses names like Freya, Athena and Selene.
Going to have a listen to your choon now .... whilst I do some online shopping for birthday flowers for my family, so many birthdays .... sigh

Trish, sorry for your troubles. You surely miss your little feathered friend and sorry for the bad news concerning your son.

Old - Congrats! My ex-husband's grandmother used to tell my son, he may have several grandmothers, but she was his "Great" grandma.

Welcome Shes! Nice to see a fellow Yank.

As for me, been busy and couldn't think of much to say. I am bidding on a pickup in an online auction. It belonged to a fellow I went to school with, who passed away last summer and I know he took care of it. It is a 2010 GMC Sierra SLE, 5.3 liter engine (4.8 would have better for me) 4WD, leather seats, very nice interior. Probably 2 nice of a pickup for me, but then again maybe I won't have to buy another pickup. It's black and no crew cab, ah well. It's like my friend Gary said "some day something could happen to my car and then I'll be afoot if I don't do something as Selby is deteriorating.

The auction ends tonight on the pickup, as of now I have the high bid.

I know I am talking to myself, but Trish has had to do so more than once. Tomorrow is a work day and my crochet student is going to Pinedale to pick up the moose meat they got a couple of weeks ago. I told him he shot Bullwinkle. Such is life in Wyoming. He feeds his family with wild meat. They gave me some Pronghorn and it's pretty tasty. They also gave me some elk, but I've had that before.

Onika has been a bit off this week. I had to run to Pine last Friday and get some medicine for her and she's not very good and taking it. it's kind of a doggie Pepto Bismal which is an over the counter for stomach problems. She doesn't act like she's feels bad and she's still eating good but has the runs as my mother used to say.

It is cooling off here and Monday we had a big wind storm. It blew down some branches in the back yard and the lid off my BBQ in the garage. Because of the dog door I suspect.

Wyo, I hope she gets better very soon. Can't be nice for either of you. Seeing the snow picture makes me feel cold. Must go and adjust the heating thermostat in anticipation of winter, I think

JR is working up at the RBL club tonight, so I can enjoy the rest of the evening doing exactly what I want.
Peace, perfect peace - until the phone starts ringing with either the kids or my sisters wanting to chat or moan about summat

Things are still tough with my son's marriage break-up, he hasn't been able to go and look at new accommodation for him and the little 'uns because he has two weeks of jury duty, which is distressing him greatly. I hope things get better for him, he doesn't deserve what he is going through right now.

Wyo, I sure hope that Princess O gets better soon, and also let us know if you won the auction for the pickup. Great picture of the snow ... haven't seen real snow around these parts for quite some time now.

Books, cheers for the choons, obviously I loved the Mumford one. I wonder what they are doing these days, you never hear of them anymore.

Old, Gwangi Jones? OMG - that's just cruel! I quite enjoyed the trailer for Gwangi Valley, daft as it was!
Talking of cruel, having to consume just a milkshake for breakfast is beyond cruelty!

Meebo, winter is definitely on the way, my office/computer room is soooo cold as it faces East on one side and North on the outer side. When the wind is North East or Easterly I could freeze to death, being of a tropical nature! It's now getting time to fetch out the hot water bottle for my feet and get my handwarmers on!

Brrrrrrr - snow 27c here today & 30c expected over the weekend.
Had a short vid of the new bub with Sil fussing with it (it has good strong lungs by the sound of it) they appear to be home with her & everything seems to be going well - Yeah - just wait till she's 12/13 or so!

Not so sure about Onika as yet, she doesn't act like she feels bad, but today she didn't get up until 2 pm.

I got the pickup!! Tomorrow I will have to go and send a wire transfer for boocoo bucks, but I shouldn't have to buy another pickup for a long time. I think it's been 9 years since I bought my last one. At least now I know if my car goes I won't be afoot. I will post a picture when I get it home.
