Been a strange week here, my youngun has been on early shifts this week meaning a 4.30am wake up and in bed by 10pm!
I got up with him on Monday just to make sure he got up OK,
He's got himself awake and into work on time each day on his own since, although I can't help waking up to listen if he is awake, but otherwise I leave him to it..
I can't believe he did it, he is not a morning person!
He has been rewarded with a 6 month contract and a uniform to wear, he likes uniforms!

Where are our 'merican friends?
I hope Wyo and Sues are OK (and their 4 legged buddies too)

Oh dear, no one's posted

I hope all of our absentees are doing OK.

All parts of the forum are quiet, such a shame, eBid forums used to be vibrant.

I do go on other forums, one site is doing very well, 3-4 pages of catch-up posts each day, it's a hobby forum but there's not much 'kitchen table' stuff going on. There is no banter, just hobby stuff
In fact, thinking about it, there is little banter on most forums that I visit, is social media the cause of this I wonder?

I agree with you, forum has really taken a hit which is very sad. I don't use other social media but you could be right.
After the site hiccup last year it seemed to recover a bit but it's down the pan again now. Sigh....

Hello everyone.

I hope your op went ok yesterday Old and that you will soon be back on the forum.

Like most others I am finding it difficult to find the time to read all the posts and even check in each day. I work less hours now than when I first joined ebid but seem to have less time to do things ! It must be an age thing.

I have been watching a lot of the Para-olympics and i'm totally amazed at the way that the athletes perform. They make me realise just how lucky I have been in my life.

Hello again Books & everyone - I'm baaak! AND not a happy chappie!

Cut a long story short - my op was cancelled. I got as far as the pre-op prep room, dressed in the paper nappy, silly hat & backwards facing night gown.
Then the surgeon entered, said, "hello & what are we doing for you today?" my reply was, "well I hope you're going to fix my 2 hernias" he said - "what 2 hernias?"
Real keystone cops stuff ensued

Turns out he knew nothing about the 2nd one I had developed during my 11 month wait for an op date, & we mutually decided that it was best they both be done together - um, der! That's what I thought would happen!
Seems there was a breakdown in communications somewhere along the line, & apart from putting a lot of people, to a lot of trouble & expense - it all has to happen again.
SO - I have a new appointment today week, so he can view the CT scans, poke me about some more, & then fix a new op date. I guess I'll get it done eventually???

Now onto happier things! - they being more "Girlz Names" choons! Oh! & a big drinkies - I NEED it!
