Hiya all - well I guess it's my turn for a little hospital visit
Remember 'bout a year ago I said I was going in for a hernia op!
You guessed it - the appointment has finally arrived - so on the 12th Sept I'll go MIA for awhile. (only day surgery)
Have to go tomorrow for the pre-op clinic "meet 'n greet" - be glad to get it all over with!

It's been a busy morning here, my son got the job and has now started work!
He didn't get the job via the job centre, they were less than helpfull, but instead it was via our local council who have a scheme to help youngsters back into work.
They help businesses expand into bigger units by means of grants, so more jobs get created. They then buy the vacated unit for lease or resale to another business.
I spoke to the lady today that was helping him get back on his feet and she said that the company that gave him the job were very impressed with him at the interview and wanted him immediately!
This is the company, it's a business model that I never knew existed...

Trish, I hope things are settling for you and your family, and that you are able to rest and get more sleep. Have tried Melatonin, which the body produces naturally. Have you discussed with your health manager your inability to sleep, and your feelings of depression? You mention both of these each time you post? Both are so important to your overall well being.

As far as my weight gaining champaign, had to google stone to pounds conversion. Was off my start weight by 1stone (14 lbs) 5 lbs. Currently up by 5 lbs 8 oz. Seem to be putting on about 2 lbs every 3 to 4 weeks. I'm ok with that. Just glad to have my appetite back. Focusing on what caused loss of appetite, and trying to get more sleep as well.

It seems that my youngun enjoyed his first day in the new job, I've never heard him say " I can't wait to go back to work" before
He's working shifts, this week is 13:30 to 22:00, next week is 06:00 to 13:30, now that will be a real test for him, he's not an early morning person!
Now all he needs to do is save his money so that he can get a place of his own to live in.
Then I can reclaim my living room

I hope Trish's family troubles are sorted out now, it does add to stress levels when your children have problems.
My ex step-daughter caused problems last weekend, she organised a surprise birthday party for my late ex's mum (my boy's Grandma) at my ex's sister's Cheshire farm, but never invited the 4 boys!!
I know what she is up to because my ex mother-in-law is worth a fortune.

Burgey & Trish, good luck with your weight gains.
I am trying to keep my weight down and seem to have reached a plateau that I can't get below. Guess I'll have to get used to being cuddly-bear-shaped

I'm so very pleased for your son and delighted that you are well again after the 2nd course of antibiotics.

Books - I just love those old songs on 78's -
they so remind me of my childhood when those choons were on the wireless -
also my parents and grandparents used to play their 78's on a wind up gramaphone!

Burgy, I'm feeling a lot better and the depression has lifted, I keep myself very busy as it keeps my mind off family matters (slightly resolved for the time being) and also tires me out. Just wish I didn't wake up so early!
I have been planting a whole lot of spring flowering bulbs.
I treated myself to a long handled bulb planter and it works just great! So much easier than digging holes!
I'm glad that you are putting a bit of weight on, albeit slowly, but at least you are gaining.
I weighed myself yesterday and I'm 108 lbs, so despite all my attempts to gain weight, I haven't put much on yet ...

Yes - it's true - they are persecuting me!

I'm absolutely TERRIFIED by them,
I don't know how they have got in as I have mosquito nets taped all around the upstairs windows.

As JR is working at the RBL club I have no-one at all to rescue me so I have had to fumigate the whole house with fly/moth killer -
yikes! I swear it's attractive to moths, they seem to be coming from everywhere and I'm very, very scared.

Luckily they aren't too big, (I once had a Sphinx ligustri crawl out from under the step when I was cleaning it - I just cannot tell you what that did to me -
poor Teagan was here at the time and she almost phoned for an ambulance for me as I was so hysterical)

If I have one over an inch wingspan I would have to abandon the house and seek assistance from Andy across the road,
who is my knight in shining armour and rescues me from spiders that are too big to catch.

I'll say goodnight now folks (as she downs her second or third very large whisky to calm the nerves you understand!)

My hospital stay will be an overnight job & they tell me I'm not allowed to drive or do any heavy lifting for at least 2 weeks afterwards.
So Bro is coming out to stay & drive me back & forth to the hospital. In the meantime I'll get a supply of provisions in for the duration.

A busy day - I have to make some scented tealights and get as much done as I can before I take charge of the little ones at 1.00pm.

Old, I'm glad your bro is looking after you when you get out of hospital, and you are wise to get such a good stock of provisions in ...lol!
