    Morning

Wow Old, you've been busy, I guess I have today's playlist sorted!

Many, many years ago I had a slide guitar, it was solid wood and electric, no pedals and looked like a violin with a fat neck!.
It was sold to me as a Hawaiian guitar, I could never get to like it so sold it and bought an EKO 12 string acoustic which I kept for years, eventually gave it to my eldest brother and bought a Yamaha electric organ!.

Trish, Sal and Tony seem to have been as absent as much as I have, I hope they are OK. Would still like Al and Sue to stop by and say hello.
The whole of the forum is very quiet too.

Maybe they need a wake up call..

I was sorry to learn of Merle's death.

YouTube have compiled a list of his songs..

    Hello y'all!
So sorry I haven't been able to pop into the cocktail and music lounge much these last few days, things have been rather hectic for me of late with family stuff both here and back home in Stoke. My mum isn't too well and we are all concerned for her.
I only managed to sign in and do my relisting, then flit out again ...

I have all the family arriving here tomorrow, as we have a surprise 30th birthday party for Lucia at the village hall - Dominic is DJ'ing and us ladies are decorating it with balloons and banners etc. and doing the catering - very hard to keep it all secret.

Many thanks for the choons everyone, oooh, I don't half love the Zep .... just brilliant.

PosBalloo - Pie Jesu made tears come to my eyes, so incredibly beautiful. So love Tarja and Nightwish ... I cannot get enough of their music, just awesome.

Old - congrats on losing half a kilo -well done! Love Judith Durham, and the Kiri Te Kanawa .... very emotional.

Little buttons - how are you?
Still listening to the vinyl and rocking on to good old Liverpudlian music?
Maybe one day us guys should all meet up and have a reet good night out ....

Hey Wyo .... whatcha up to gal? Is the wind still blowing?
Love the crochet things - what are they? Hot water bottle covers? How's Princess O?
Kaiser is sadly deteriorating - he is old and drinking gallons of water and peeing all the time.
I need to be with him and care for his needs full time, so can't go far right now. He will see the vet again next week - the tablets they gave him are not working to control his problems.
I cannot even bear to think that I may be losing him, my bestest ever pal and my dearly beloved gentleman friend. Everyone around here loves Kaiser, he is a legend.

    G'day Pos 'n Trish & all
Yes it has been very quiet all round - I guess life gets in the way!

Whoops! I missed at least one other slide instrument of note - I'm sure there are others out there?
This is an Indian invention "Mohan Veena" & clip one shows its originator, then the most well known western exponent.

Have a great time at the party Trish & sorry to hear about your old mate.
It's so sad when they get old, & the reason I decided never to have another pet after my last one went.

Yes I too worry about the missing ones, hope they're all OK &

Anyhow - time for breakfast or a drinkies (under the old coat hanger) as the case may be!

What a strange day yesterday was.
My eldest son has his own house, he has my youngest son and my ex living with him.
She left me and my 4 sons exactly 4 years ago to the day, my heart was broken, I say ex, we did not divorce, i guess I thought that one day....,

Yesterday I was having my breakfast, I had a thought come in to my mind that my ex wife had died and what would my boys do without her.
I was relieved to find out (discretely) that everything was all right.

Last night at 1/4 to midnight I had an extremely distressed son on the phone telling me that mum had collapsed and the first responder was trying to revive her.
My youngest son who was trained by the RAF cadets to give CPR had tried to revive her beforehand.
She passed at 5 to midnight.
She was only 56 years old.

I still loved her but never told her.
30 years together and four strapping sons.

    Freddie Mercury was her idol.

Please hug your loved ones today.

My sincere condolences to you & family Graham.
That's way too young for anyone to go - so sad.
I hope you & the lads will support each other through this tough time & into the future.
We lost my Father when he was 54, so I know the kind of shock you're all going through.

    Thanks everyone, I am OK.
Just trying to cope with events, a lot going on behind the scenes with my step daughter.
It's been made clear that she does not want me involved with any document sorting or funeral arrangements.
I will not be going to the funeral apparently.
Who knows what my ex has told her? I don't for sure.
I was the innocent party when my ex left, you have to remember that she would have to give everyone she knew a reason for the split.
She's not going to tell them the truth, that I was a nice guy that doted on her is she?
She also left 4 sons with me to cope with, I wonder how she explained that one away to her family.
So, I won't get involved, I will close the book on that part of my life and move on,
I hope my sons don't get tainted by the experience.

Sorry for the moan, but it helps!

I am in need of a brew, care to join me before i go back to hibernating?
