Amazing video, that was on the news last night (I think) in between programmes, I looked up from laptop and only caught the end of it, now I know the rest of it too. Cheers.

Progress on the River Rock project. I got to the jobsite 7:00 AM met 3 ceramic installers rarin to go. First question they asked me is "what music do you want to listen to?". Pretty sure everyone knows the answer to that one. All day worked side by side with these guys and I have never worked with Union installers who were passionate about their work.
We started with me showing them how I created the approved sample, they understood, took the bull by the horns and we created a duplicate 340 sq ft of what I sampled at 16" x 16". I only had to jump in and help when the guy taking the "creator/artist" part fell behind when the grout was getting too dry. It was a tremendous experience working with this team. The results I thought were tremendous.
I took several pictures and videos. One of the videos I took was while Led Zeppelins Kashmir was playing on the radio (oops did I give away what music I requested in the morning), I watched the video when I got home and it almost brought a tear to my eyes.
These pictures are step 2, which is the grouting and insertion of the shells and river bottom taken from the river just outside of the facility.
The next step(s) which I have to do myself due to the mixture of finish (I'm using $45.00 per quart, once mixed...use or lose, no practice on this stuff) is applying the finish. Super High Gloss on the entire floor (2 coats) then 2 coats of a matte finish just on the top parts of the rock, thus creating a river flow appearance in the grout joints with the top of rocks appearing dry.
Sorry to bother you folks with this but I enjoy stuff like this!
I guess maybe a little Kashmir while looking?

Lovely floor, Al!!! The artiste emerges.
Workday here today, both of us on the computer all day, but I have the jewelry all done as far as edits go, now to go and count and do new pictures on the ones that need it. I will have to work on my hand made ornaments and other crochet goodies next week and try and be ready for the work day.
Sunday is graduation for high schools in our district. Got invited to Burns and Pine Bluffs - eeck! Can only be in one place at a time, I just haven't mastered the split personality spell yet. I love my kiddos! At my age, they aren't my kiddos anymore, but I love em anyway.
I am glad to see Emmily has not been reclaimed by "The Comfy Chair'. LOL!
I YDC, Do you?
What a fantastic job, you need skill and patience to do a floor like that.
Here, have a complementary Zep track whilst having some black coffee to neutralize the effects of the Tequila.
Black coffee for Artist Al..and anyone else of course
Tea for anyone?
Hope you all have a Super Saturday

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain.
White coffee for me Graham.
Thanks for the kind words everybody!
Fantastic Zep tune!
Wow, Al, most impressive! I so love the look of cobblestones, many of the houses in upstate NY are made of cobblestones, it's always been my not so secret dream to own one; well, maybe one day when I dump bf for a rich guy, LOL!
Nicer weather today, sunny but a bit cooler, liking it quite well, not quite Spring but close enough for these parts...
Cheers,
