Finally decided to try applying for Google exemption on two of my stores, (the theatre one and my "odds and ends" one), last night, and followed the instructions Gaz had posted on here.

Just checked less than 24 hours later, and both are exempted!

Very very happy! Thanks for providing clear and easy instructions as to how to go about getting exemption status!

It will be interesting to see if your sales plummet now. Mine certainly took a nosedive after being granted exemptions on all five stores. Hardly sell anything now.

Had a similar experience myself and thanks to help from support I got the store exemption pronto. Oh and my sales are up since my items are once again searchable on Google.

Really? how bizarre.

I applied for exemption on one of my stores, got a confirmation email but can't tell that it has made any difference. Where do you see that the store is exempt?

I never got an email, but it said by the GSID - instead of just GSID [number] it says GSID : [number] (exempt from 29 Nov 2011) on my two, on the store configuration page.

I never got an e mail either, but support informed me my store was exempt.

Didn't know that about the GSID number, thanks Dark.
