Default cheap counter top collection tins to put in shops???

Several shops have said they will put counter-top collection tins for the theatre group on thier checkout counters which is great, but we are now looking for a place to get cheap collection tins - we only need six, and all the places we have looked at online for buying them are incredibly expensive per tin, unless we do a huge bulk order of tins we dont need!

We have thought about making our own from plastic kitchen containers, but the seals on those are bulky so that by the time they are security sealed under the main label, they look really messy and the labels dont do on neatly and it just looks a total mess.

I dont know if anyone knows of a source for second hand ones, from charities or churches or whatever that have given up collecting or closed down? Or a source to get tallish round plastic pots of around the right size, that can be *neatly* sealed and labelled? (the poundshops and kitchen ware shops what we can get to dont have anything of the sort).

What about the tins that are money boxes? You would have to destroy them to open them, but you might find them in pound shops, keeping the price right down?

Lidded tins that you can cut a slot in and then weld down the lid.

Anyway 'Make an appeal on your local radio' you do have that 'contact'!

Have you thought of asking the local Lions Club or Round Table. They often have collection boxes for events.
