Exemption granted but visibility greatly reduced

Does being granted an exemption harm your visibility on Google Shopping?

Even using broad search terms, my items used to come high up unfiltered results in Google Shopping but now, unless I'm more specific, my items don't appear at all.

A search for 'Amber Pendant' brings back 7,810 results - none of them mine and my shop isn't listed at the side. If I add the word 'Silver' to the search string it brings back 7,770 results of which 193 are mine but they're well down the search results - In the first 10 pages I only have 1 on page 3, 1 on page 5 and 1 on page 9.

I think this whole Google thing is becoming a real mess. I have spent an hour playing with Google and things can be so random as to make a simple search useless. Soon you will have to put in the sellers middle name to find the item!!!!!!(joke)

Thank-you for helping prove my point - items are not showing using *broad* searches. 925 isn't something the majority of buyers would even think of searching for (I only use it when there isn't enough room for Sterling in the title and to get better results on alpha-numeric lists).

Try the search again just using 'moonstone' or 'moonstone pendant' and all my items disappear.

Well at least this item of yours does show. I am not saying every thing is perfect. But things are not as bad as some people are saying.

What browser and OS are you using? From Vista, my shops (and by extension, my items) are not shown when using the search 'moonstone pendant' in Firefox, Chrome or IE7.




This problem IS as bad as I'm saying - it is costing me money in lost sales.

there are some 64 pages of your products on google products .co.uk under your store name searching a simple title as the one you gave a example of does not come up for me, however simplifing another auction title at random

But again, if you simplify it to just 'Amber Earrings' or even 'Silver Amber Earrings' absolutely nothing shows on shopping (even though those are 3 of the first 4 words in the titles). You have to get more specific than a lot of people randomly browsing for Christmas presents are likely to be.

Should any of the items ahead of yours not be there? If they're all legitimate search returns, what is *wrong* about the return? Are you not there at all?
