    Default Vanished seller

Anyone know what happened to 'worldofbooks2011'?
They had a huge stock, I received a very quick reply to a query, bought it and they delivered very quickly .
Excellent service from one of the biggies, unlike another that has ignored my repeated queries.
I went to search their catalogue and they have vanished.
They're still over on the other side, wondered why they left here

Hard to say, as of April 2011 they posted over 70,000 listings and was still recieving feedback this August. They appeared to be doing well on eBid but all listings are gone. That's a shame to lose over 70,000 listings that quick!

I tend to be very wary of the big warehouse type operation, but I was very happy with them. Just wondering whether to go over to ebay and see if I could ask them.
If I have the time and more importantly, remember, I will

Not a bad idea at all. Maybe they don't realize they were appreciated here, it certainly wouldn't hurt to remind them.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

70 K listing is a nice amount and particularly if they were providing good service. Some business operators are not willing to remain, where they are not generating high volumes of sales. However, listing here is not costing much, so if they could be attracted back sure would seem good. I think eBid needs to graduate from the site of "enthusiastic viewers" to the site of serious bidders and buyers, if we expect to attract & keep high volume sellers.

As a large seller, they likely have duplicates of items, they could list the duplicates here, it doesn't cost anything and would give them twice the exposure.

    Just a thought.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

worldofbooks looked like they were doing alright. Wish I had half those sales. It is sad that they left, but even sadder they weren't in the US. Aside from it being a super rare manuscript or something no one is really into paying that much for shipping on used books, and I sure if you were on this side of the pond you'd agree.

Just got looking at there feedback. They were leaving a lot of neutrals for non-payment in July. Think a lot of "special" people from the other side wandered over and screwed around. It is kind of a headache to do 3 non-payments. Grant it you can do them 24 hours after each other I think, but people aren't that patient. They really do need to simply that.

An auto if they don't pay in like 10 days or let the seller decree how long they'll wait for payment. Hey sometimes people have to wait until payday that why I say 10. I understand what that is like all to well, but then again if I don't have the money I don't buy.

After reading the 1st post on here I went straight to their all about me page, funnily enough I have just been praising them on another thread before finding this! Anyhow was also dismayed to find all their stock gone. Tried contacting them but you cant unless via their auctions.
However as I recently made a purchase from them I was able to contact them down that route. As it happens I did praise them up too and said they would be sorely missed etc etc and have tried to encourage them to stay as we need sellers like them. Hoping for a reply and will let you all know the outcome.
When I read the rest of your replies I see we are of the same mind too

JUst to let you all know, have now received an email from our lost seller.
He has had technical problems, dont know what exactly, but got a nice email back, he will be back with his auctions next month apparently.
