Welcome. Not a New Yorker but a Texan. Yes it is much nicer on this side of the fence. I got fed up with the bay sometime ago, for a lot of the same reasons that you did. Hope you find this place a welcome change and it is very nice to have the wonderful community spirit like it is here.
