    Default Postage stamp sales

    Hello All

I just wanted to tell everyone that I HAVE SOLD A STAMP ……... not that I am getting excited! It was a longish wait though.
May this be the first of many sales.
Has anyone any ideas about how to sell more?

    Regards Tony

Well done on your first sale. You have some very nice stamps on offer.

It took me about three months to sell my first stamp, but since then I have had regular sales, quite a number from people searching on google.

List as much as you can to give buyers a variety to choose from. Try to put a bit more description in about the stamps. You can subcategorise, so you can put all your South African stamps together, and all your GB stamps together.

Buy a few things off ebid to get rid of the black glasses and away you go! Once the black glasses go, buyers seem to be more confident in buying from you.

Oh and persevere...just when you think that you won't sell again, another sale will come along.

All best wishes with your store!

Consider offering to buyers in the U.S. Stamps are lightweight enough so the postage costs are not totally unreasonable. I have sold many stamps to collectors in other countries, but most of them here, so I KNOW there are active collectors in the U.S.

    Thanks for your helpful comments.
I did try to get connected with Google but had trouble with my code number, it is something I will revisit as I should give myself every opportunity.
I have just looked at my goods for sale, as you say just europe I don't know why I didn't include others I sell worldwide on eB.. Any rate will look at this to.

You need to add the country and condition (mint or used) to the the title - if you have sold an item with only 57 stamps listed, you are doing rather well! List more.. and explicitly offer a postage discount on multiple purchases (thinks.. why am I helping a competitor?

Congratulations on your 1st sale. Use the Plug Your Auctions thread - there are a few stamp collectors in the forums.

Also there is a Philately Group in Community.

Not much going on there at the moment but if we all pop in now and then who knows!
