    Default eBay - Worried ?

eBay have just added a new condition for payments.

essentially it amounts to 'Any seller will not enter into a class action against eBay with another seller'

Looks like they are worried about something, I wonder what it is ?

If a group of people join together in a class action then it suggests that Ebay have done something systemically wrong. Like the class action by postmasters against Royal Mail

    Just my guess.

Obay admits that it makes money in interest on seller's funds 'On Hold' in the US, but says it doesn't in the UK. Perhaps someone's digging? Personally I don't believe that they're not making something, somehow, on the money On Hold, although it may not be 'interest', there are other ways they can make a gain. These days they seem far quicker to slap Holds on funds than they have been before.

I agree that the sellers knew that eBay was making some kind of money off their money.

I think the UK has a more proactive way of going after these sites.

I was reading on the Ecommercebytes blog a letter from a US(?) seller, the gist was that although ebay says that they can hold payments "Up to 30 days" but might release funds earlier if delivery is proved by tracking or the buyer leaves positive FB, they never do, so ebay is breaching it's own T&Cs ? Might it be that?

ebay is a criminal enterprise..........the majority of their top sellers are actually ebay hidden employees or private contractors.......ebay puts them in place after they learn......from legit seller sales......what are the money makers......and then putting legit sellers out of biz or they feed them bits with the algorythm................that is what this is about...that is why you see the huge variations between sellers..and why certain sellers get all the biz.....and it may have huge tax implications for ebay as well as criminal violations of statutes which could force them into bankruptcy..........
