Thread: "1st edition" Harry Potter Deathly hollows

Default "1st edition" Harry Potter Deathly hollows

Why is it always something? Okay I bought this when it first came out. And I bought a 1st edition direct from the UK. Pre-ordering it. Now I find out there are 2 UK first editions.

An "adult" edition and I'm guessing the regular edition. I have the adult edition a medallion with a fancy "S" on a black cover. Just curious if anyone knows why there are 2 different 1st editions? It just seems strange to me is all.

Harry Potter books were all (once their popularity was established) produced with children's and adult's covers, so that grown-ups didn't have to be seen holding a kids' book. Otherwise known as excellent marketing. First editions of the later stories have little extra value (if any) since they were produced in such massive numbers.
