There is some interesting information here.

I've sold several books to the UK and everything went fine. I list 1st class shipping on most but would be willing to send anyway a buyer is willing to pay for.

My advise is list as shipping to other countries and let the buyer decide if they are willing to pay the cost of posting.

I am new to ebid but have been selling on ebay for years and always limiting my sales to Canada and the US.
There are a lot of ebid users in the UK and that makes me think I should be shipping to the UK.
I am concerned about the cost of shipping and who pays duty, taxes etc.
    Anyone gone down that road?
    All assistance is gratefully appreciated.

The buyer pays any duty, or tax. Its not your problem.

You fill in a very simple form and stick it on the package, Its called a CN22.

Just list your item with the correct postage costs, then its up to people to decide if they wish to pay the price on offer.

I would advise you to say in the listing that any tax or duty is the responsibility of the buyer to avoid complaints - because between EU countries there is no tax or duty and buyers can get confused.

I've bought books from overseas sellers on a number of occasions, (especially old European history books, not so easy to find here); unfortunately I have yet to sell any books overseas, oh well, there's always jools.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

    MPS16,

Thanks very much for the info. I forgot to mention it is comicbooks I sell, silver & bronze age mostly.
Since I ship from Canada, the postage cost is usually higher than postage from the states.

I would think unless your books are collectible or rare, the postage would be excesssive.
Some shops here do really cheap book offers, 3 for Ģ5.00 and so on. If you only have run of the mill second hand paperbacks, that's the market you're up against.
Sales on books are quiet here, unless you gave something out of the ordinary
