Any beer mat collectors out there?

Is there still a market for beer mat collections?

When I was a nipper in the 70's and early 80's I used to collect beer mats - there used to be quite a market for them often selling for around £10 each , there was a British Beer Mat collectors society and we had our own name "Tegestology" i seem to remember

Any way, to the point, I have a large collection (probably around 1000 if memory serves me right - including one or two of those £10 ones - think of inflation - i could be a millionaire ) just wondered if it would be worth dusting them off, or keep hold of for even longer to see if they come back into fashion

Boy, does this bring back memories. When we lived in Germany in the 1950's I started collecting these. We called them beer "deckles." By the time we left I had a collection of several hundred. I had no idea of the value, if there was one, for the collection, but I did sell my entire collection to a local German beer garden for $100 cash and $100 in trade for food and drink. I only have one that I kept. It was one from Munich's Hofbrauhaus that was signed by four of their "schuplatzel" dancers (not sure of the spelling).
