I had a problem with this, this morning.

I added Classic & Sports Car to the brand box and when I previewed the auction this had defaulted to Classic Sports Car. For some reason the & isn't showing.

I've had to leave it at Classic and Sports Car for the moment.

With magazines and books you only need the ISBN number - brand does not need to be entered.

I always put the ISBN number in, but wasn't sure what effect the brand name was having.

I don't think it has a great impact putting details in the brand section for magazines and books at the moment. But as google refine what they require in the future I can see a time when they just reject any magazine or book with a brand entered. So best to just put in the ISBN which is all that is needed for that category.

I won't worry about brand names for these type items from now on, one less job to do!

Well that's interesting, I tried to list another one without the brand entered and I got an error message pop up saying you've entered a MPN for this item and it needs a brand to go with it? Once I re-entered the brand it listed okay.

I would go to support with that.........

Google do state that for Books and Magazines only the ISBN is needed - it shouldn't give an error for an MPN because its not an MPN or in a category where an MPN would be needed.

MPN = manufacturer part number

And the ISBN is correct, I've doubled checked it, but it's a 15 digit number, perhaps it doesn't want the last 2 digits, which usually refer to the issue number?

Yes it should be only 13 digits for Magazine's - try it without the last two digit's
