.. the bigger Gallery picture are wonderful - I thought to begin with my photo taking had improved but no!!!

still, they look better now, they really do (my standards are so low....lol)

I love the larger gallery thumbnails as well. But I see no change with the edit preview strip. Mine is still purple, not that I'm grumbling, it's never bothered me any way.

Yep, it's still purple, but they have changed the colours on the 'edit' and 'list' buttons to make it obvious you need to confirm your nxt step.
