Thread: Book seller blues

  1. #1

    Default Book seller blues

Think I mentioned this in a post a while back. It is happening faster than I even thought.

    Ebooks outsell books on Amazon.com

Not good news if you are a book seller. Time to add e-books to your inventory.

Just had a look...Kindle eBooks have their own category...looks like it is just Amazon and their approved sellers are selling them.

I used to trade there but most of what I sold can only be sold by approved sellers and I couldn't get approved

    I sold toys and jewellery

Yeah...I started trading there in 2005 and sold all kinds of stuff but more recently was told that I could no longer sell toys and jewellery...also skin care and cosmetics without being on their list of approved sellers and all my listings were removed by Amazon.

I emailed them for advice on getting approved and was told that they only approved a small number of sellers and I didn't meet their criteria.

So..basically...that was the end of my relationship with Amazon

The only books I sell now are not mainstream books. I look out for unusual books to sell but most of my stock has gone to local charity shops now.
