Cool How to get more buyers/sellers from Feebay to here..

    Hi all,

I am currently new here and had almost started my first online business venture on eBay. But after reading up more on eBay, I grew to find that there has been some sort of policy change within eBay and PayPal which were turning many people off.

Thank goodness I didn't start there!! 13% FVF? And soon incl. Shippin too? Goodness! That is a lot!

I basically just started eBid out and am still trying to figure out the postage rates and what not.

After reading much on this awesome forums, I came across a weird idea. Since we hate eBay, and love eBid, and eBay loves the big players/sellers, why not serve them their own dish?

Meaning, I believe there are many of you veterans sellers here, who happen to be darn good at keyphrases and keywords right?

Why not spend a few more cents and list on eBay ABOUT eBid? Sure it might last awhile, but if many of us are doing it daily, I don't think eBay can delete the listing fast enough? Haha! Basically let's tear down eBay as to how "we" built it from scratch?

So, anyone up for the idea?

Perhaps list an "Item" titled - "CHEAPER ITEMS" or "CHEAPER [short name of whatever you are selling here]"!
post eBid logo as a gallery picture or within the listing..
The listing description will be very brief on the item actually. 80% of it will be about/on eBid..

LoL!! List it up for 10cents+free shipping?

    Anyone game? Haha!

Great idea if I wanted to get myself banned from ebay - my major source of income, unfortunatly

    Welcome to ebid

Much as I like ebid etc. I do not think that your idea is very "professional" and it would give ebid a bad name.

There are many other ways to spread the good word around.

    Hi.
I agree with Juliebabe25 it would give ebid a very bad name.
I produced 500 keyrings with ebid on one side and my shop link on the orther.
I always send one with my sold items. and have sent about 200 to my ebay customers.
I also give out to anyone i meet with regards to my business.
Itt really works and people love FREEBIES.

Just because some people in these forums dislike or hate eBay does not mean everyone on ebid does. I personally am happy to use both eBid and eBay.

Also I am sure the sellers on eBid would not be happy if people started listings on here advertising other auction sites.

    Hi

I agree it will just start a slagging match. and ebid has a reputation second to none according to my customers.

I am not in favour of slagging matches. However when I sell something on fleabay, I pop in a flyer about the majority of my auctions being here instead. Already have one fairly frequent buyer who came over from there.

There are legitimate ways you can "promote" ebid on ebay if you wish to, such as selling vouchers there for use here, or selling ebid branded items like pens and bags. It doesn't actually achieve much, in my opinion, but is within the rules. It would be within the rules to sell ebay branded stuff here, but nobody needs to bother. There would probably be people in both sites who wouldn't like such things, but then there are people who object when sites are mentioned positively or negatively in the forums, that's just private opinion and doesn't matter like the rules do. As for us all hating ebay, sorry, no.

hehe, people will never all agree on the Internet Which is fine as far as I am concerned, as long as people are civil about thier disagreements.
