At present I have no links TO eBid at all because I am still waiting (since the promises were made in April) for the means to auction items in French and English. I write the blog and my own website in French and English but there is little point in directing the majority of my blog readers ( who are French) to auctions when they won't even understand the title. As soon as the connection is viable I will link to eBid in the blog.

So the only connection between eBid and the blog at the moment is the other way round hopefully - forum members can (and do) read the blog and will realise that the materials required for the projects etc are available on eBid. I am not aware that this has brought me any sales so far.

I thought one of the things you wanted to see was more French participants so that you had a bigger domestic market. Surely providing links to the site and promoting it that way would help your market grow?

No they don't work you seem to have too much in them.
I think you need to remove http://www.blogger.com/ from in front of the rest of it for the text link to work.

I was trying to work out what was wrong. They're text links picked up from the CJ affiliate scheme. The banners work ok but these I seem to have done something wrong. Tried correcting it as suggested Chris but still no go. Will have to have a think.

If the blogger bit's being put in front it implies the site thinks the link you have supplied are relative (related to the host domain and to be found somewhere on their own server) instead of absolute (out there on the web, so beginning http://). Did you include the http:// bit when you pasted the URL in? Is it included in the link text if you copied it whole? I'd suggest that's what it needs from the symptoms described above (sorry, in a hurry and no time to go and look myself).

I'm pleased to be able to say that I had my 4,000th visitor yesterday! I wondered about adding recipes to an essentially quilting blog - but the sloe gin entry is proving very popular!! I wonder if the French would be interested in Dundee cake?

I am sure they would, as I don't think there is anything like a fruit cake in the French cuisine
