Nearest to me search suggestion

When using the nearest to me search for a certain term / item, would it not be sensible to restrict the results to the users own country as it's unlikely that the user is going to go 3000+ miles to pick an item up.

When I see results saying
Distance: 4249 miles from UK, NG****
Distance: 3667 miles from UK, NG****

It looks rather strange

In the URL it has the word country ID hidden too

For continental purposes the nearest item may well be in another country. When I lived in Germany we used to shop in the Netherlands because it was cheaper!
