just spotted this on an AOL page about the Royal Wedding

Now is the time to sell it - as royal wedding fever is reaching just about everywhere. Get your stuff on e*ay and take advantage of perfect timing. A friend of mine once waited until one of the Harry Potter films was about to come out to sell his old gown from university on e*ay and made over £100 - it's all about timing.

If you don't like the fees on e*ay you could try eBid which doesn't charge as much, but be prepared for the fact that you're items won't reach as big an audience.

My daughter has a coronation mug from 1937 King George VI. It was presented to her Great Aunt when she was at school. Handle is supposed to be gilded with gold leaf. Doubt if she will sell it though !
