Listed an item today eBid item # 41493601. Parcel would be 18 X 18 X 18 cm an 250 grams shipping from T0G 2A3 in Alberta, Canada.

eBid shows Canada Post shipping to my postal code T0G 2A3 as:
$37.68 for Canada Post Regular Parcel
eBid won't let me check USA shipping
eBid says international shipping is Not available

Canada Post (canadapost.ca) shows:
$9.50 for Canada Post Regular Parcel
$5.85 for Canada Post Small Package Surface USA
$19.16 for Canada Post Expedited USA
$9.35 Canada Post Small Package Air International.

I can't figure out where eBid is getting their numbers from.

Try your example and use inches instead of cm for the dimensions. The cost should be high.

I did this test on 18x18x18 cm and .250 kg on Canada Post Find a Rate and it was 8.43 using cm and 20.03 using inches. I used shipping to my own postal code as I did not know what you were using.

I am new to ebid. I started to list my items and found out the calculated shipping is not correct. I checked the shipping on ebid (my post) and Canada Post site and found out they have a huge different. ebid is showing shipping cost $33 but Canada post is showing $10. I can't use flat rate coz different provinces have different shipping cost. Can anyone help me with the calculated shipping or this is the problem that we have to wait until ebid fixed? Thanks

Using 6 x 6 x 6 cm as input is a very bad example. It is below the minimum dimensions for many Canada Post services.

For example, Small Packet has a minimum of 14 x 9 x 0.1 mm so it would be rejected.
Expedited Parcel USA has 21 x 14 x 0.5 cm as minimum so it would be rejected.

So please use an example dimensions of 21 x 14 x 5 cm to test. This will meet all minimum dimension requirements EXCEPT Light Packet which has a 2 cm thickness limit.

GAZZA, be wary of these examples as many of the "Not Available" results are valid because minimum dimensions are not met. The other strange rates may be cause by this minimum requirement also and the Canada Post site may be giving out incorrect prices???

Gazza, I checked the Canada Post site for minimum dimensions for services I do not use and 6 x 6 x 6 is not a valid minimum for any service as far as I see.

6 x 6 x 6 cm is 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches. Barely enough room to put on a stamp let alone an address label!!

PS Gazza, please check how Canada Post processes less than minimum dimension and over maximum dimensions. I have found similar issues in eBay/PayPal not giving feedback that the inputs are not within range and then the eBay listing with shipping calculator display nothing and it looks like the item has no shipping cost when checked by a buyer.

Especially for calculated shipping and Expedited Parcel USA. If it is under the minimum dimensions, the eBay shipping calculator will display nothing and buyer purchase without any shipping charged.

Just a heads up from my experience on eBay and using calculated shipping with Canada Post. I think Canada Post gives poor return codes when outside dimensions are entered. Perhaps you can do a better way of making sure the dimensions are checked by eBid.

I also had dimensions issues when using InkFrog which got cleared up after some complaints made by myself and others. I think Canada Post is a bit annoying to set up.

This Auction is a test auction. Auction ID : 41525445. At 6 cm, on each side, it should be an invalid shipping item but yet eBid shows shipping as "Canada Post Expedited Parcel to t0g2a3 = C$36.68"

One of my other auctions, with the same problems, is Auction ID : 41493601
Royal Albert Tea Saucer Jade Chinese Japanese Oriental, Ship to Canada = C$37.68 to my postal code T0G 2A3. When this item was on eBay, shipping was listed bt eBay/Canada Post as $9.70.
