Listings Disappearing!

I do check, Kim, but the total number of missing items is much too high for it to be finger trouble. And there are Tia's, Magnet's & Kedo's experiences too.

However, now I realise that it is happening, I will be yet more vigilant.

It is difficult to exaggerate how upsetting and infuriating I am finding this. I trusted eBid and my trust was misplaced. I really would go elsewhere if there were any viable alternative. So far it has cost me nearly 3 days work and I haven't anything like finished checking all my items.

Madelaine - I found I had this happening back when I started on eBid and mentioned it in the forums at the time. Now, I don't do a relist without making a note of the new number and doing a quick comparison of live listings to the count I have in the book. Its very time consuming and I've got less than 400 listings when they're all live. Its also a pain as I need to make sure I've got time to note the new number each time I do a repost - I can't simply repost.

A question about how ebid works - when I click "delete all" in Auctions I ran unsold, does it stick ticks in the check boxes and then delete those items or does it "delete all"?

If you mean the "all delete" button at the top, it just does the ticks. You still have to use the action button at the bottom. I use it to tick everything then untick the ones I want to keep if the numbers work faster that way round. It only applies to the list displayed on that page as well, not everything on file.

As I said, I use it all the time. But that doesn't negate the possibility of it going wrong in the background.

That's exactly what I thought, Kim. In my innocence, I thought I was relisting "all" which I clicked "relist all"!

Have my two further missing auction numbers been investigated, please?

I've found more items that were listed and have vanished but I can't find numbers for them. This problem is not going away until it is fixed.

Can you be sure (and I'm only asking, don't shoot me!), can you be sure you didn't tick delete and miss the "repost" box? I expect you check the numbers match each time, yes?

I'm sure you do check, but if you reply it will stop <ahem> anybody else thinking it. Nudge. Wink.

Knowing what a control freak Madelaine is (in a good way, and it takes one to know one!) I'd be confident that she's not made repeated mistakes checking the wrong box. Unless there's some serious usability problem in the UI and it does something very different from what a reasonable user would expect.
