I'm not sure about others but a vacation home is a hassle as well as a waste to me. I prefer renting an Island for Holidays.
Did you ever see Wurzel Gummidge in the US?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/ilove/years/1979/tv3.shtml
Well eBid has Wurzel Gazza & Wurzel Mark,
not sure who is Aunt Sally.
There must be Jim the tea maker, cos Mel & Kim obviously know of him.
They also have JohnsonAlex, who appears to be the forum ghost, as apparently he has posted but you cannot see or read any of them.
Then there is Diller's who is new & I think we decided last week was the forum poltergeist.

I promised myself I would never get involved in one of these threads again.
We were in a small business for over 30 years. In that time we were stuck in the growing of the box stores. We tried to compete with advertising. What we found was that it was a money sucking trap. In order to be effective we almost had to have ads running 24-7. We were not big enough to support that sort of money.
Has anyone ever researched how much it would take to be effective. A lot of the reasons Ebay is in the shape they are in is because instead of working to make their site better they just threw money at it. They are in a cycle that they can't really get out of. The money they spend will only bring in so much and in order to get enough to pay for it they have to do more and more.
I turn down the sound on commercials, skip the ads in the paper, very seldom see wht is written on billboards. A long time ago I decdided I would find the things I want to buy and your advertising isn't going to help you.
