    Gazza,

Guess I was typing to fast. I have IE8 not 7. To answer you I am using firefox so I can see forum screen properly.

Don't know my screen resolution....sorry not a techie. Let me know how to do it and I will respond.

As for a forum thread that is causing a problem, it's all of them, including this one.

    Right click on your desktop
    Select Properties
    Select the Settings tab
Read the numbers from the area captioned Screen Resolution (xxxxxx by xxxxxx pixels)

    Thanks Mel.

My resolution is 1024 by 768 pixels.

I just rechecked my computer and I am using IE8 so Gazza I'm not sure why you think I'm using IE7.

Gazza, One other thing I forgot to mention. When using IE8 on the forums, I could no longer insert pics. When I tried to put a screenshot on the forum thread of my problem the box where you type [sorry don't know the technical term] just turned black and then I couldn't even type in the box. That is why I put the screenshot on ebid's FB page.

If I looked at a closed forum thread in IE8, the width was correct. It was only open threads that the width was way way off. Thanks.

Yeah - Gazza - I don't know whether this will help at all..... (I've mentioned it in a couple of threads)

    I have Frefox
I run XP (Home) - on a laptop
    I run at 1024 x 768

And here's the 'interesting' part..... I only get the problem (the need to scroll way off to the right) on one (1) page ONLY.

    the url is http://www.ebid.net/forums/showthrea...e-forum-layout

and what's even 'stranger' is that the width issue is ONLY on PAGE 1 of that thread (for me)
when I advance to PAGE 2 the width becomes normal again.

So (for me) it's ONLY a problem on page 1 of that particular thread.

But Florida is apparently getting it on other threads as well.

ie8 windows 7. Still find the writing space very tall so only get 3 or 4 postings per page.Otherwise ok.

You should be able to alter the number of posts shown per page at: http://www.ebid.net/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions under Thread Display Options.

I've got a possible lead on this one - might help, might not.

For me, the forum is absolutely fine. However, once I attempt to reply to a thread,
then the width problem appears and remains for the rest of my time in the forums.

Hi PetBazzar.... Just as a matter of interest, when you 'reply' - do you use 'Post Quick Reply' or 'Go Advanced'?
