I agree. How do we send a general message to all members?

ONly Ebid support could do that - and until they decide if they are going to get involved, it wont happen.

I would imagine that it would have to be done by an administrator

Wasnt a lot of point in doing more in case it is not what folks have in mind.

It is only the basics - no music etc added.

Once it is decided who is going to be co-ordinating this event, I can take it further.

Once all the info is in, and it is complete, then sellers can put it on their facebook pages etc.

Considering I can hardly work my camera I admire those that can figure these things out. I think it is great.

When you come to make the final version, let me know if you want a proof-reader. I know how hard it is to proof your own typing, especially on a large font.

    As regards the discounting idea.....

Some seem more 'onside' with the idea (maybe 25%, maybe 50% etc etc)

Personally, I too am very close to the bone with my prices (like others have also mentioned) .....

So..... in whatever form this 'event' takes place - could those who choose to participate have their own choice?

    Say:

Some might offer a discount of (whatever)...
Others may offer a little 'free gift' with the purchase...
Others may offer a 'discount voucher' with a view to return sales...
Others may offer (if they're able) - buy 1, get 1 free.

My point here is - could it be 'flexible' for those stores that take part, so that each could offer 'whatever it is' that works for them as a store.

Then the influx of 'shoppers' could really dig around to find a deal.....

Sorta like going to a 'carnival' and deciding which 'rides' or 'showbags' to buy......

that's my 2 bobs worth for now....

Sorry MagnetsAndHangers - I forgot to say "well done" on your Video.

I liked the way you used images from the actual eBid Site pages - I see this as instantly creating a 'familiarity' in people's minds for what to expect when visiting eBid itself. I also like the opening "
The Door Is Open" - Simple - Catchy - Direct !

    A Teriffic Effort really.....

Okay, my idea having seen people's comments...

Something like this: eBid's May Madness!

Participating sellers offer a free gift with every purchase during May (this can be much cheaper than offering a discount, it can be as simple as a sweetie from a tin, to an extra "whateveritisyousell". ) It lasts the whole of May to allow plenty of time for promotion and exposure. It's that far away to give us time to form a detailed plan and try to get eBid on-board, and to produce and promote things like Magz' video.

If eBid agreed to join in it could be promoted on the front page and other official routes. And they could even go as far as offering another freebie to any buyer who buys, say, five separate May Madness items from different sellers. A cap or something.

Sellers taking part put May Madness in their participating titles (means it doesn't have to apply to all listings if you don't want it to). Listings have to spell out what the freebie is. Sellers could also offer a "buy five from me and get XYZ additional gift".

    Comments, please?

That certainly sounds doable, just have to start thinking on what 'sweetener' to offer

That allows good flexibilty on the part of eBid sellers - they can choose the items that would work best in this offer...
