26? is that to do with miles or something? you can tell I don't run!
Have to admit, I think I'm stuck on "Z" already! LOL . Actually, it'll be a breeze for me - I have Scrapbook sheets which have each letter individually printed on them - good ol' Alphabet design range he he..

Either by having to list something or just pointing out an existing item on sale, we could click the 'share in Facebook' - imagine the amount of Purple & Green pictures on walls! Though I think we would have to be careful about the number of postings we can do in case it is seen as spamming (?)

Facebook is a good platform and great exposure to those outside the circle of eBid and so would certainly generate some curiosity.

Or (language barrier pending) we could post our Acronyms for the letters eBid (in a positive light of course)
Or list 4 items that begin with those letters

    ...initial scratch ideas...
Thats the good bit - not everyone will want to participate in all special events.

There are hundreds of sellers who dont sign in on a regular basis - they wouldnt even know there was a special event going on

Thats going back to the ''lets target sellers'' thing.

It is buyers that ebid want to target - sellers are already appearing on a regular basis.

The reference to "competing sellers" was meant to indicate those sellers choosing to take part in the competition. It's not brilliant wording because it has to be so vague, sorry! The buyers would be the ones who won.

I agree that attacking price wouldn't be my first choice either, hence the emphasis in my first mention that it's not a plan. But you have to give some people something they can understand to get the cogs whirring, then they might come up with a better idea... as is happening already.

Anything generated via the forums has a limited initial audience, naturally - the whole point of throwing this out to FB is to broaden that. Being a forum user mustn't be an essential of taking part, though encouraging more to use the forums wouldn't be a bad side-effect.

The main thing would be to try and get buyers, all I was saying is that eBid HQ could also do something to tie in with it for getting new sellers too.

On the A-Z 26 theme, sellers could list the items with postage at 26p

Agreed. I'd rather seen any benefit of taking part in whateveritisday have some clear appeal for shoppers.
