Possibility of a co-ordinated Facebook event?

Al, I have to agree with you.... Support from Magnets and bykimbo is surely needed to give this a much better chance of success.
I can make comments about all this but personally I have no experience in any of these types of events....

kimbo mentioned "I've created events.........". So there is a wealth of experience for a start.....
Magnets has already contributed some 'tangible' ideas with the Video draft.....

All I can do encourage at this stage.... Their help would be a huge asset.... and we all need to be 'flexible' with what we each personally expect, so that we don't drive good help away, but rather attract it.

why not just have an annual ebid awareness day , where everyone promotes ebid on facebook , twitter, email , youtube, blogs and all other social online sites they can to drive attention to ebid and our stores. Tell people how great ebid is and safe venue with transactions done through amazon,google and paypal checkouts. If we could have everyone doing it for a day then spread out for the rest of one week it would be equivalent to being a major ad campaign. Ebid should get involved and email all their sellers and buyers to participate and help drive ebid consumer awareness. Maybe even create a landing page promoting ebid and the even , showing new clients success of ebid and how many great deals there are for buyers.

If everyone did this it could be huge and could even trend on twitter. Everyone twittering , facebooking, blogging , etc etc even press releases would get peoples attention. Oh some big celebrity charity auctions too to kick off the even. Like get charlie sheen to donate something to his favorite charity and be auctioned off on ebid and the WINNING bidder wins . etc etc

The biggest problem ebid has is brand awareness we have more and more sellers now its time to get buyers . As soon as people start making money tons of other sellers are going to rush over here and will really blow up .

That is very true.................


Being quite new to these promotional concepts, would it be a 'fair call' to mention the following?

There's possibly 3 type of eBid sellers here.....

1. Those who are familiar with 'facebook' and/or 'twitter' etc and who can compitently use them.
2. Those who are not familiar with 'facebook' and/twitter' etc and who are willing to learn the necessary steps.
3. Those who are not familiar with 'facebook' and/twitter' etc and who intend to stay away from using them.

All I'm saying here is that we best not assume that everyone is in catagory #1.
Obviously those in catagory #3 wouldn't be wanting to get involved directly in this promotion.... but....
I'm in catagory #2 and would need some pointers, either some resident expert to explain the steps, or if not, at least someone to post a good link dealing with exactly how to effectively do this).
