A lot of big sellers require APIs as they use a program to monitor everything, which generally includes their own site, and they can set it to add and remove stock, depending how many sales they have on any venue.
A lot of them send out automatic orders to suppliers when stocks are running low, so to have to monitor one site that is not part of the system would be just too much trouble.
I think ebid are reluctant to release it until they can make sure the API they create is safe and secure, as if they did it wrong then it could potentially allow the wrong people access to parts of the database that they should never be allowed access to.
So for me in this case I just hope they do it right rather than fast
Plus they have a lot of other jobs that they may consider as more important.
Does anyone know how many programmers ebid have? Just wondering when people are talking about lists of changes.
