Thread: Streamline & Re Organise Site

  1. #1

Default Streamline & Re Organise Site

The main thing that eBid should be aiming at is de-cluttering the site far to much/many odds and ends in the system, its getting bogged down.
I may be wrong but try looking at it from a customers view.........THE Customer is getting bogged down with all the twists an turns on the site I have a strong feeling, if the site was streamlined a lot of sellers would find sales increasing.
The sellers are increasing on the site, but it's no good having more sellers if the customers find it a struggle to negotiate the site.
I know I'll have groans but eBay have a good system, Amazon have a good system, companies learn from each other ?
What selling system do you use most of, I prefer " By It Now"
I am at present I,m re-merchandising my stock/site to give it a fresh look, it's all go .
All the best to eBid Colin.

I only sell on eBid - and it works just fine for me, as a seller and a buyer, so I have nothing to groan about...

your post is a bit vague on detail.... what specifically is needing streamlined?

I think it's true that any site (or part thereof) that grows organically get get cluttered and muddled, and a spring clean now and again is an excellent idea. Not sure we've reached that point yet, since the last big redesign. I think there are areas that are worse than others though, like the joining while buying thing, the invoicing, bits and bobs. But running this site is a full-time job for the guys already it's clear, so I think we have to be patient about change and understand that with the benefits of a small, friendly, owner-run site come disadvantages one has to live with.

    Most sellers are also buyers.

Its no longer feasable to sell low price items on that other site so i think this is a good home for them.

Yup, absolutely agree Kim. I have had emails from new members who found paying and leaving feedback confusing. But as Kim says, we have to be patient with the boys who are doing a fantastic job.
