Hi Guys
Our Alexa rating is rising steadily.
Its now on 11,145.
Six months ago it was on 14,000
This shows that more and more people are logging into ebid.
But we have a long way to go.
Dell are on 200.
Excellent that our Alexa rating is rising....
There's a couple of other wee statistics in Alexa that might be promising too. The number of people leaving after only viewing one page is going down and the amount of time spent on the site appears to be going up.
But here's an oddity: 20.5% of visitors go to helpdesk.ebid.net whereas 15% go to uk.ebid.net and 7.8% to us.ebid.net and 6.1% to ebid.net - I wonder why that should be the case that so many are going to helpdesk?

I guess that makes sense.
But I suppose also that if helpdesk.ebid.net is the landing page before it redirects you, then the report is entirely accurate. Also interesting then that www.ebid.net/forums isn't even listed in the top 15 (have always used that one, didn't know you could get here any other way) - I wonder if people expect something else when they go to helpdesk.
Helpdesk is also where the faq's are.The logical place to go if you want to find out about a site before you join.
The FAQs are in the help section, but not in the helpdesk sub domain so would be part of one of the other sets of stats. But even so, a new visitor is more likely to land on a main page and go to FAQs rather than land directly on them.
Was just an observation, if a slightly odd one.
Let's get more involved in figuring out these stats. Reading through the forums there are a lot of unanswered "why's" maybe it's something we might be missing and if we happen to stumble upon what "it" may be by chatting about it here in the forums I say let's explore.
Just as an example (right or wrong) when visitors are going to the help page are they being directed to where they want to or should go? Do the FAQ pages actually direct to the forums? Are visitors pleased and comfortable with navigating the site?
