Stamps glorious stamps (and covers, and airmails)

There are some very interesting old postcards from Switzerland, quite a number from the early 1900s, listed in MG by Moonlight Postcard Shop.
I don't really collect postcards but over the years they have come my way and now need to go to another collector. I will be adding more Swiss postcards over the next few days.

Check out the clothes the ice climbers are wearing.
No paths or roads in the village postcard - I think that might have now changed.

There are now more than 60 turn of the 20th century postcards listed in the Europe - Switzerland subcat in "MG by Moonlight Postcard Shop" including some fascinating social history subjects.

All the postcards for sale are in great condition considering some of them have been around for over a hundred years.

I am still merrily listing Switzerland postcards....I have learnt a great deal about the country, its mountains, its towns and cities through studying the postcards and researching the place names. I have listed some of the used postcards in "MG Stamp Shop" as they have some interesting date cancels on them and some hotel cachets, A great deal of the postcards are not listed elsewhere, so there could be some rare postcards to be found in my listings. Rather than split this South African set of stamps I have left them as I found them from the original owner who has identified them with Stanley Gibbons numbers. This is one for the specialist as there are plenty of flaws and varieties to be studied in this issue - or the stamps could just fill gaps in your collection.

While listing more postcards from Switzerland, I came across this interesting card which has stamps from three countries on it....




The explanation of why there are three stamps from three different countries is written on the postcard as a side note....
