I may just drop into a local auction and ask if they have seen it. I have done that with one or two things and they normally know their stuff.

Maybe it is 1930s or 1960s trying to look like 1930s.

I dare say it's a chip off the old block though!

Looks like some carvings I picked up many years ago in Haiti. Actually quite nice carving, on cheap wood, stained with shoe polish. This looks very similar in type, style and color, tho different subject. Whatever - I like it.
