Just had an old friend write that she opened a jewelry store on Ruby Lane, so I went to take a look at her listings, all too $$$ for me, but offered her my 2 cents on her listings, for whatever that's worth.

Anyhow, while there I checked (just for fun) on what they charge sellers to open a store and sell items and the cost made my jaw drop:

30 cents to list an item, minimum of $15 monthly maintenance fees
$20 per month for advertising a shop
$75 set up fee

Now, I'm not a math whiz by any means, but that comes to somewhere in the neighborhood of $110 - and that's before selling a thing! I told her I thought she was overpaying for what she's getting and she should seriously consider coming here instead.

It makes me realize just how lucky I was to find eBid!

I suppose if she sells enough it could still be worth her while, but I think ebid is a better option even if you pay the full lifetime seller +
