    @Emporiumdays

    Aussie, Aussie, Aussie

    Welcome to ebid.

Your post makes a lot of sense to me, and I was thinking on similar lines.

When we vote on Bykimbo's upcoming poll, we should all be thinking of what will be best to attract buyers and make them buy on ebid.

A lot of the suggestions on the list great, but many are for sellers pet needs, thats OK, but I would like the boys to spend their time on the items that will bring us all buyers first.

How would you implement your #2 - not having long lists of identical items, what do you mean ?

    Just got back................

Thanks Juliebabe25 for commenting - and for the welcome you gave me.............

Regarding #2 (not having long lists of identical items):

It's difficult for some (specialist) sellers not list very similar looking items (even though there may be subtle differences between each individual item).....
It's more to do with the repetition of gallery pictures - (I'm a 'visual' person, and I think variety in Photos, where possible, makes for a more interesting 'smorgasbord' for customers to view.
This does mean more effort (more photo taking) by the seller, but I think the results at least give the impression of variety......

Not sure if that explains it well.............A VARIETY of good gallery pictures gives a better impression to buyers, that's all........

    Maybe an example to clarify.......................

A seller has MP4 players for sale.
They all LOOK identical, but one is a 2GB model, the second is 4GB, the third 8GB..............
It's tempting (for ease) to use the same stock photo and just mention the 2,4 and 8GB differences in the heading text.

But if each MP4 player had it's own photo, (or even its own differing color background or border), then the listings won't look as repetative or uninteresting.

This is perhaps more a seller's contibution with the overall look of eBid, rather than a structural change from eBid themselves........

I previously brought this up on the suggestions forum, but thought I would mention it here too.

A drop-down menu for choice listings.

    Eg......you have a jumper size 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 in colours red, blue, yellow.

Instead of listing it x number of times, list it once, with a drop down menu in the listing for each size or colour.

In my own case, where I have 3,500 dog magnets listed, I could list them all in 200 listings.
One listing for each breed, with a drop down menu offer all the different designs for that breed.
I use this elsewhere, and it has encouraged multiple purchases.

Good ideas. Sorry, I haven't read everything here yet, so hope this isn't duplicating someone. I'd like to see the little red and green circles on the ebid summary be BIGGER so we can, by jumpin' jimminy, read them. Also, would like the font size on tabs, the little squares with page numbers found at the top and bottom of forum pages BIGGER, so they are easier to click on. They are pretty small to see, and if someone has a bit of shake in their hands from too much sauce the night before (not me, Gov), then it's easier to click on.....
    Ta-Ta for now!

Okay, thanks everybody for your contributions. I'm closing this now, to give me time to wade through all the ideas and construct my poll without you bunch of enthusiasts moving the goal posts. If you didn't get your idea in in time to be included... tough!
