In my opinion, such surveys aint worth the paper they are written on (or the webpage they take up in this case)

In my view it's not about accuracy or real relevance, it's about promotion.

I found this useful. Now I have the names of several additional sites to check for prices (the biggest problem with collectibles). I did find some items on other sites that we're listing. It appears we're not charging enough here. And yet, we're still making more profit than we would anywhere else.

I suspect some sellers don't know how to calculate actual profit, they just count number of sales. I did see one person on the survey complaining that eBid took 2% of their sale price and they thought that was outrageous.

I also noticed that the two other sites I considered before deciding to land on eBid are both VERY low in the ratings. Made a good decision, didn't I?

Know what you mean, and yes, there are some sites in the list which I have to admit I have never heard off until now, so at least it works as far promotion is concerned.

Just the comments in such things which I think are a load of bs.

Magnets you are right about ‘’never heard off until now’’ heh…and U.S. Market always works in same way Advertising and Advertising for large population of the people….we are lucky because ‘’Feebay’’ send out large of number of Sellers because of very high fees…and that’s is the MAIN reason why many left….but are we going to take this Advantage or not and what will be the future we wait to see…

    I disagree,
Ina's site is quite well respected by the market place world.
OK the survey was slighlty flawed by the top two results, but that was what voters voted for (they obviuosly have some good cheerleaders) I think people will soon realise that the first one is a niche site.
But the survey certainly helped me decide on which sites to join last year and if a person reads through the comments I think ebid will come out quite strongly.
We can't help but get some new members through the survey.
Ebid does not do any marketing themselves (aside from motor bike racing), so we have to take what we can.

    LOL

Yes of course, eBids results were all true as they were done by independent users and not by eBid's forum cheerleaders

My posts only state my own opinions, unless I've stolen them from someone else

Surely, it was Julie's recognition that she roused the ebid cheerleaders that caused her to make that comment in the first place?

I think the survey was interesting. Especially since eBid came out higher in all catagories than E**y did and yet it was lower in the overall ranking.

I personally am not impressed with AuctionBytes. If you read the front page it is usually at least 4 articles about E**y and what they are doing and maybe one or two articles about Amazon. The rest of the internet auction world doesn't seem to exist or are not newsworthy.
