is there anyone watching my listings?

Hi, i'm new to Ebid having been an Ebayer since 2002. I'm wondering if there is any way to tell if anyone has looked at or is watching any of my listings?

The view counter is supposed to tell you how many have looked (though I strongly doubt their accuracy and take little notice of them myself); watcher information isn't available.

We are unable to see if anyone is watching our listings. I would welcome this facility with open arms.

I reckon that very few people watch on Ebid.
There are few bidding wars that have to be watched.
If you bid, you have a good chance of winning, so why watch?

I only watch to keep track of items I'm interested in, if I can't buy them straight away, so I don't lose track of them.

Hey. We are extremely new to eBid, but have been with EBay for a while. I do find that knowing who is slightly more serious about purchasing your items, especially in the case of our custom, on demand, invitations, labels, stickers and more store does help with inventory control. To explain: If there are 10 watchers (those who are serious about purchasing your product) and your sale lot is for 4 invitations... that's potentially at least 40 invitations and 40 envelopes, and could be substantially more... Normally, it is at least double the number of the watchers (on the low side) times the lot number. That is watchers, not viewers - and is usually 4 to 5 times the number. When you check your stock, you can match your counts. So you can see how the watcher number listing would be a great benefit to sellers.

The views are interesting but, unfortunately, not usually serious about buying. Thanks for your consideration. :-)

I regularly watch several similar Ebid auctions while I wait until payday.

I don't bid until I am sure I want to buy

I'm with you Moonwitch.

This topics comes up time after time on many forums.
There are many reason why people watch.

They may be waiting till payday
They may be comparing prices
They may be looking at the opposition
They may need to talk to their wildlife or husband about it
(there are probably a few other reasons too)

But some people say that watchers are a waste of time
That is not true imho.

It also gives you an idea of the interest in an item.
Eg the other day I put an industrial sewing machine up for auction.
I got lots of watchers, and two low bids.
But it did show to me that there was a lot of interest in industrial sewing machines.

AND on some auction sites, you can make an offer to watchers, and I have made a few sales as a result.

Lets hope this subject come sup in Bykimbo's poll on Gazza's Job List.

I agree with Bill there are no bidding wars on ebid and so no real numbers of watchers.
I have never found the number of watchers on ebay in any way equates with the price fetched either,and the actual money the item fetches is all I'm interested in.

Baconsdozen , my comments above applied to two auction sites that also don't have many bidding wars.
I have made LOTS of sales due to watchers.
