    Default I'm sooooooooo tempted!

    I'm pre-listing.....ready for YDC84

    & already got an auction with 56 views on it

    I'm soooo tempted to add a silly "buy now" (and exempt myself from the YDC competition),
    just to get YDC onto Google products.

    56 views, way to go!

    OK, dumb question, what is YDC and how does it differ from other charity auctions?

    Best wishes for many sales to all,

    You have nothing to lose, so why not just go for it

    We have monthly charity auctions, with a chosen charity, that starts on the 24th of each month. that lasts for 4 days, (although you don't have to use the chosen charity, you can pick your own)
    If you look on this charity forum there is a thread that explains it.

    OK, back to stupid here, (I should get a T shirt that says that): where is the thread that explains YDC? I looked in Charity auctions and couldn't find it.

    YDC = Your Donation Counts. Every month, for 4 days, starting on the 24th, Ebid members hold a charity auction. The highest sell ing item lister ( I think) of the previous auction gets to name their charity of choice for the next one. It's a suggestion only, and anyone can have their auction(s) proceeds go to any charity they want. Items have to have an estimated end value of less than £20 I think.........or something like that. I believe they all start at .99 or less. You can charge postage for your item if you wish, or include it in the donation (ie: don't charge for it). There is a thread somewhere about it, but I'm not sure how to look for it.

    Continuing a search of the threads found the following:

    If you would like to take part in the “competition” element of YDC83,
    Please adhere to the following guidelines:

    1) All auctions should have a start price of 99p (UK) or less.
    For other currencies, please find an easy conversion chart here: http://www.xe.com/

    2) No item listed should have an expected value of more than £20.00 (or local equivalent)

    3) Your auction should not have a reserve price or Buy Now, and it should be a standard auction (ie: not “featured”, or have any extra enhancements)

    4) Your auction should run for exactly 4 days.

    5) Please list your item/s to start at any time on the 24th of November (in your country), and finish at the same time on the 28th. (Different time zones will be taken into account when establishing the “winner”).

    6) Please put YDC 83 in the auction title.

    7) Your auction/s must be hosted on eBid.net, and must NOT break eBid’s listing rules.

    8) Your auction/s MUST be for a charity (or good cause) and you will need to add the following to your description:

    This auction is an entry in the YDC83 charity auction competition. All money raised by this auction, will go to: Add the name of the charity/good cause here

    9) You should not mislead bidders/ buyers. Please be truthful.

    10) Please keep all shipping / postage charges at cost price.

    11) PLEASE LIST YOUR AUCTIONS IN THE CHARITY AUCTION SECTION UNDER “YDC”

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Also:
    You may list AS MANY items as you wish.
    You do not have to support the nominated charity, it can be any good cause of your choosing.
    Please try to offer your auction/s to as many international destinations as you can.
    Does all of the above still hold true?
    Best wishes for many sales to all,
    This is the link to the YDC83 charity auctions that were held at the end of November - Vonz's 1st post lists the details that apply to all YDC listings.
    http://www.ebid.net/forums/showthrea...Hospice-Surrey
    YDC84 begins on 24 January. It's a great way to earn feedback, raise money for your chosen charity, and have some fun at the same time.
    You don't 'sign' up to YDC - you just join in - but make sure your listing is in the YDC category under the 'Charity Auctions' heading.
