Sewing and machine emroidery

Gazza can we please have sewing and machine embroidery spit up please so that we can list as
crafts&sewing/sewing/ribbons
crafts&sewing/sewing/buttons ... .....etc
instead of crafts&sewing/sewing&machine embroidery/buttons
Sewing machine embroidery has nothing to do with most sewing items at all and should be made a sub catagory or a catagory of its own.

I'm on her side with this. 2 very different things. (I can sew but can't manage machine embroidery)

Its probably best to have Machine Embroidery as a seperate cat altogether, with its own subcats.

This would mean changing the original Crafts and Sewing> Sewing and Machine Embroidery
to
Crafts and Sewing> Sewing> with the existing subcats retained in this cat.

and then

Creat a new Category ... Crafts and Sewing>Machine embroidery

with new sub cats e.g.

Crafts and Sewing> Machine Embroidery> accessories
Crafts and Sewing> Machine Embroidery> Threads
Crafts and Sewing> Machine Embroidery> Patterns
Crafts and Sewing> Machine Embroidery> Embroidery Machines
Crafts and Sewing> Machine Embroidery> Other

I don't machine embroider so no idea what subcats there should be, but off the top of my head thought these might be a start...

If we want it changed we will have to be sure of what we want and make it clear....and keep on discussing it.

I don't do machine embroidery either syl but I know I don't want to list my items under it as it is now,
And i think you have the sewing machine embroidery catagories about right syl from the bit I know about it, I do have an embroidery machine but I my self have never used it, Mike has though.

It can be months between category updates sometimes.

As Kim says, I don't think it is personal. I do, however, think that a more systematic approach to category updates would be useful. Rather than taking the ones from the front page and doing them, I would like it if a discussion was started over a category or sub-category so we could discuss changes before they were implemented.
