Default ebid 2011-- the 2nd best auction site on the web in a top ten review!!

The review is thorough and detailed. While eBid is still number two, the owners can make it number one, it will just take a lot of programming and updating code. Oh yeah, you will also need way more marketing if you want to make it to number one. Invest in Google Adwords.

    Google adwords.

Do any google search and on the left you get the results you asked for (organic search), on the right are a few ads that relate to what you asked for.

    These are Google Adwords.

If you want to adverssie on the web you can go into Goolge and pay to get your ads appear in Google adwords on the right hand side.
    (paid search)

That is where Google gets most of its money from - billions of dollars!

I checked the review and I don't agree with their ratings.
Ebid is top for getting problems sorted and Ebay is poor with robot answers which never deal with your question.
Ebid is OK for buying and selling but suffers from not enough variety in items for sale, and not enough people browsing. I hope that will change.

Agree with Bill, especially about the bot bit - does anyone really work at Feepay anymore who doesn't have a tin head?

Also IMHO (after using Feepay and several other online auction sites) eBid is #1 overall.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

It would change rather quickly if Ebid did a tad more advertising. Ebid doesn't seem to have much exposure in the US. I see a lot of 'overseas' users (from U.S. perspective) on here - not many Stateside. I think that something as simple as Google adwords would help. And banners. Funny how i keep getting Ebay banner pop-ups on my screen while hanging out in Ebid. Eh.

I've noticed the ebay pop up aswell, seems strange to me.

Looking at a lot of the forums I see a lot of contributers from the USA, most with a lot of posts, so my view is there are a lot from the US and quite a few from the UK but not many from elsewhere.(I Know there are a few from Australia /New Zealand so apologies to you guys!!! I see you regularly on here!) Is it possible for the site to produce member figures by country? Might help for targeting sales?? I know some things are not available to some countries so maybe membership numbers might guide when and where things are rolled out?? Just a thought.
Apologies if this info is already available- if so could someone point me in the right direction please.

    Cheers everyone
    Alan

    @abyorkie

I agree with what you are saying. I don't know how to get those figures. Or many other figures I'd like from ebid.
They are kind of like most auction sites, very secretive when it come to figures.

But I do target some of my products to just Canada and just France (in French) and I get quite a few hits on a regular basis. But no sales to those countries yet.
So this says to me that there are quite a few people in those countries looking at ebid, or are they members, or are they bots ?
    More questions that answers.

I have recently made sales to South Africa, USA, India and Japan. So ebid is obviously reaching out to more countries every week. I gave up on the other side over 2 years ago, concentrating on ebid and I have certainly reaped the benefits. I can actually make a small profit on items I sell now, which was not always the case elsewhere.
