I've been thinking about this for a few weeks now.
Do we want banks that just look after our money and do homeloans etc. and charge high fees.
Or do we want banks that gamble our money on the markets and do "merchant banking" and make millions on each deal and cause bubbles, and crashes etc and need bailouts ?

    I'm with the first option.
Split the banks up into BANKS and finance companies.
But if we do go for the first option, then we need to pay the fees so that they can pay their rent and staff.

As regards Paypal, yes those horror stories we read of worry me, but I have not heard of many lately, and I think it only applies if you have a huge amount of sales in s short space of time.
unfortunately most banks charge fees AND gamble making themselves very rich :/

Hello everyone. I am brandy new here. I'm hoping this site will work for me as I am also so fed up with Feebay (haha, I like that name.) Where are these rules that everyone is talking about? I can't find them anywhere. I already posted an auction and I want to make sure it is ok. Oh and also, where can I find this list of great tips from Craig?

    Thanks in advance!

    @Gal

I can't see your auction because I'm in New Zealand.
But you could help things by adding a pic to your About Me page and something about you and your polices.
People like to see who they are buying from.

There are pages of rules, someone else may point out any errors.

    Yes Craigs List was great.

He started off with 10 pretty good ones.

Then we all mangled it and got it up to about 30 items.

Thanks for your reply Julie. I will add a pic today. Where can I find these pages of rules and this list that Craig has?

    Thanks!

My list has 20 tips. I've no idea to what extent it might match anything Craig's done. It's here: 20 tips for sellers and the whole blog is viewable here: http://ebidwidgets.tumblr.com/ I don't know if Astral's pages include selling tips, he tends to stick to how to use the site, but if they do they'll be sensible.

Hi Gal, I took a look at your store, yes you do need to complete your about me page and you have only one auction going so far, hope you will be adding more. I ran over here from greedbay also. I am in the process of contacting all my former customers and sellers to let them know about eBid. This is a great site.

Welcome to ebid. You look like you live relatively close to my daughter who is in Lakewood.

As others have posted, it's a good idea to fill out your about me page. Also let your old buyers know where you have landed. If you have a facebook, etc. account, post one of your listings every other day or so to get the word out about ebid. This site is relatively new in the U.S. so we have to let U.S. buyers know we are here. I also post some of my items on Craig's List with a link to my ebid stores.

    Hope you have many sales.

Thank you all for your information and advice. I put just the one item up to try it out. I have a lot of items to list so it will take me some time. I am having a lot of trouble importing my files from ebay because I can't get the right file extension so I have to do them all manually. Thanks again everyone!
