I'm really not convinced the whole, tweet & retweet 100's of links idea is a good way of getting new buyers.

Think about it rationally, would you watch a TV channel that only had adverts on it, even if they were well made & amusing?

The whole idea of twitter is to get people to follow you, so give them something to follow.

That applies just as much to business accounts, as it does to personal ones.

The beauty of twitter is you only have 140 characters, you don't need to write "War & Peace".

Trivia, & little snippets of info that relate to your products will get people interested, & wanting to find out more, & in the long run be much better for your business than "Hard Sell Tactics".

As you know Chris, since we've been discussing it on Facebook, we are two hearts that beat as one on this. It's all about quality and keeping it fresh and interesting, and avoiding the dreaded spam.

Unfortunately, I don't think we are being heard.

I fear you may be right! I can't believe there are still several people over there whining about not being retweeted back - yeah, more spam, sigh.

What I'm trying to get across is, if you sell teddy bears, or vinyl records, (2 products chosen at random I know very little about).

If I follow you I don't want to see link after link after link pointing to your, or your friends listings.

But if you tweeted things like:-
"the first vinyl record was pressed in xxxx"

"Since 1904 Steiff bears have had a button in their ear."

The sort of trivia, about your product you probably know, but most people would need to look up, mixed with more personal stuff like.

"the first record I bought was xxxxxxxx back in xxxx, it cost me 1s & 6d"
"The first bear in my collection was a Steiff, although I didn't know it at the time"

    already it's much more interesting.

Build up a fair selection of tweets like that, reword them occasionally, & try not to repeat too often.

Mix them in with the links, & you should find your number of followers grow, what's more those followers are much more likely to be interested in your products & buy from you.
