I've been on Alexa for about 2 years.
I have the Alexa tool bar on my browser and my website.
This is so that i can see how my website is going.
And also it allows me to watch other websites. To see if they are getting more popular or less popular. And if they are worth dealing with or not.

But I have never followed keywords etc.

That just about says it all.
Don't be too tough on ebid.
Six months ago they were on 14,000. (so that is quite an increase)
    The Plaza is on 83,000
    My website is about 1,300,000
Many websites are in the millions

You are sort of answering your own question.

Yes ebay is a household name
Yes many people just go to Google when they want something
And yes lots of people spend a lot of time on Facebook

So, as you say, if lots of people search for goods by Google and your items are on Google via ebid, why don't they buy from you ?

    I have no idea

Well, just to wrap it up: to my amazement and horror I just discovered I was auctioning a well-known bit of electronic test gear for €1 starting bid - an accident, since I turned down an Ebay offer of €250 for it a few months ago. If I hadn't caught it in time, I might have been forced to sell it for peanuts. Whew.

It just confirms my suspicion that Ebid needs to advertise, and BADLY. I'm writing off my €80 sub as a dead loss, closing my auctions, and I won't be writing in this thread again until

    (a) I see an Ebid advert pop up whilst I'm browsing elsewhere,
    (b) I see a flying pig, and
    (c) I get an acknowledgement from Mark or Gazza, whoever they are.

Have a good time on Ebid, and if any of you actually ever sell anything, please let me know! At least Ebid will keep forwarding messages to me.

    Bye from Pat-The-Pirate

Im not surpeised you have sold nothing, your Heading consists of one word or a 4 didgit number , you have nothing in the description maybe if you spent more time on listing than throwing your toys out the pram you would have sold more.

Having items on 1st bid means that they stay at the back of the catergories despite several mentions of this you couldant be bothered to change them.
