I still think you'd have to ask the other Gazza first to see if thinks its a good idea.
I remember another site's members tried something similar and it fell flat as the owners were not really on side with it.

When I looked at this last year a very brief google brought up the blog of the domain parking guy who owns it, who's making shed-loads of money from it, and who stated he'd already turned down what he considered a ridiculously cheap offer (tens of thousands of pounds even then). I don't think there's the least chance of the domain being acquired for an affordable price, and I'm afraid I wouldn't put a penny towards it unless I was getting ownership! I think our energy (and possibly money) is better spent getting ebid dot net out there.

Just done a little research on him - he seems to be something of a legend in the domain name squatting world

He sold porn.com for seven million dollars
He sold ireport.com to CNN for $750,000 dollars in 2008 (and is still sitting on i-report.com)

Some of his other parked domains include names like cowboy.com

This guy is holding some seriously valuable domain names, decides their worth himself, never discloses them, and waits until someone exceeds his valuation before he sells. And all without building a website, or packaging a single widget. He's never stood in the post office queue for any of his sales.

    Kinda makes me jealous

Oh well, know at least we know more about ebid.com

Sounds like a very clever guy.

I heard that years ago when the internet was just getting going that some clever kids bought domain names such as McDonalds, Ford and Mercedes. They were planning on selling those to their big companies for a lot fo money. Till a few clever judges ruled that you could not do that. The reason was that those domain names naturally belonged to the big companies that had been there for years.

In ebid's case, he got in first. And of course Cowboy is not the name of a major corporation.

And I have never seen it as a major problem.

Well, now after reading through this thread I understand a bit more about the .com and .net business. I personally think having the .com after the ebid would be a big plus, but if it's not available at a price that makes sense, then you have to move on. I also agree with a few of the others who commented that it would be nice to see ebid doing some promoting of itself to drive more traffic to the site.

    Blessings!

No! no! no! ebud .com is a much better option.
If this site was given the name all of our sales would rise.

ebad.com is the worst possible option.
I cannot imagine anyone having an interest it

ebid.com makes it sounds like a US-centric site anyway instead of being more like worldwide.

I think Gazza should snap-up the 'ebid.co' domain. But knowing how he works, I doubt he will.
