Surely before you can insist on the rule being so tightly policed as you want, ebid would need some help along the way, that is where the report an item comes in, every buyer and seller help police the site in that way, but ebid then have to weigh up the evidence and be sure that it is not simpy a ploy to have competitors listings removed willynilly or out of spite.
If you read my first post, I said: "The only excuse could be "we can't check millions of listings for violations...". All right. But how about when a member points you to the problem and even shows you where it is?"

I needed a charger for my mobile, so I typed in nokia 3310 charger and up came several, I purchased the cheapest, job done.
But is that ebid opinion? I think it's yours. ebid says we cannot create more than one listing for the same item. Changing item title doesn't make it another item. I have 10 identical books. According to ebid, I cannot make 10 listings. Just one with quantity of 10.

Just a quick question pretty similar to what your asking. I normally sell my lights as a buy it now only I have a stock of 30 that I have had on ebid for a few days but no buyers so far so is it wrong to start a new listing just for 1 of the lights just to get people interested because even though I am listing the same item twice one is auction the other is buy it now ?

It looks there are different interpretations. What I get from ebid policy is that no more than one listing should be created for the same item. But it seems others don't think so.
We need an administrator to come forward and clear the confusion.

    Yes it is my view.
Personally I think it's in the wording. http://uk.ebid.net/help_selling.php#29
Multiple listings, please use Multi-item Auctions
It is not fair on other members to show row after row of the same identical item.
This has an adverse effect on the entire community.
If you want to list multiple identical items please list as a Multi-item Auction.
We currently allow one auction, be it a normal or multi-item auction, to be placed in a single category. Do not place the same item in many different categories.
The word identical brings up this http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=1...g&ved=0CBUQkAE
exactly alike; incapable of being perceived as different; "rows of identical houses"; "cars identical except for their license plates"; "they wore indistinguishable hats"
being the exact same one; not any other:; "this is the identical room we stayed in before"; "the themes of his stories are one and the same"; "saw the selfsame quotation in two newspapers"; "on this very spot"; "the very thing he said yesterday"; "the very man I want to see"
(of twins) derived from a single egg or ovum; "identical twins are monovular"
having properties with uniform values along all axes
coinciding exactly when superimposed; "identical triangles"
So my point is if someone is selling an object/s that have more than 1 usage but sell them for 1 usage that is different each auction then I don't see how it is identical even if the object is identical.

You may not be happy, and the only way to try and get an answer from the site owners is by emailing support@ebid.tv and marking if for the attention of Gazza & Mark, if you have an open ticket still, then ask for it to be escalated to Gazza & Mark

I will be extremely happy to create several listings but again we don't know if your interpretation is what ebid meant. That's why we need an administrator to clear things.

The rule applies to the individual seller accounts. There is nothing to stop you listing the exact same item, with the exact same title as someone else.

Hence why I say you need to email Gazza or Mark direct.

I have a few items that could be listed as many auctions even though it's the same item, but I don't have enough time to list every item I have let alone listing some of them with every usage possible.

No matter what the rule/s are people will still try or find a way around them if they really want to
