i have a green paperwieght.that is stamped C H G .does anybody no what that means.as i want to list as soon as i find out more about it.thanks

Caithness glass paperweight..

oh.are you sure its CHG and not CIIG ? as it can be etched to look like H when in fact its II
If it is II then it is a caithness 2nd quality paperweight..

i have had a better look and its C ll G so what does 2nd quality paperweight.mean then. and thanks for your help

2nd quality means it was not perfect..Caithness are very stringent with their glass, so we may not see anything wrong with it...but Caithness class it as a second quality..not worth as much as 1st quality glass.
