Default Do many people know about Ebid?

Hi everyone, I just joined Ebid a couple of days ago, and have so far set up about 7 auctions. I sell custom-made wedding dresses.

I have a website and 2 feebay stores. I am also not happy with feebay, but the problem is that about 75 - 80% of my sales come from my feebay stores. I joined another auction site, Oztion, but haven't gotten many sales from there as it's not well known. In alot of ways I'm stuck, because everyone seems to automatically go to Ebay, and don't seem to know about alternative auction sites.

Can you suggest some way I can promote my Ebid site, so I can start getting sales here? Thanks.

Hi, it may be a good idea to update your "All about" seller page, provide as much details as possible.

    Hello CaracalFashions! Welcome!

I know exactly how you feel. It's hard to make the transition.

I have seen a large number of "hey I'm new here" posts lately though. Which is encouraging. Hopefully, all the new people will all post many new items. The more everyone posts the better selection and incentive for buyers to shop here.

I'd definitely like to see eBid surpass other sites. It is much easier to use and clearly a better deal.

    Good luck with your listings!

Hi and welcome from a fellow Aussie. Different here but oh so friendly and refreshing. I have high hopes for this site. Stopped using Oztion as it only seems to have heaps of second hand goods .
Have got myself a car door magnet through vistaprint advertising Ebid and my stores through which shall be putting on the back of the car for all to see who are behind me at lights or held up in traffic. You could consider this and doing some advertising in the local high school when the end of year formals are coming up. Putting an advert with your Ebid address. Sure the girls would be curious.

Some great reading here on how to go about getting your items on google searches.

Lots of helpful advice on this site and heaps of good reading on getting sales.

    Good luck.

Hi there and welcome to ebid. Why not add a flyer to any parcels you send out on the other sites to say you have moved over to ebid and sell slightly cheaper on here as an incentive to bring your customers over. after all it is far cheaper to list on here than the dark side

    You make these?! They're gorgeous!
Somebody else will probably already have told you to dump the Run Till Sold and list for 10 days with 10 auto-relists.
If you have testimonials from satisfied customers, perhaps you could incorporate some of their glowing comments into the listings. Wedding gowns are a big deal, so people want to feel comfortable with their purchases.

In April feebay sales were down almost 20% a six year low for the company. So it ain't all roses over there! Good time to find another selling home.

You found the trouble with most smaller alternate auction sites, no traffic, no listings, no sellers, no buyers, no sales. ebid is the #1 alternative auction site so is the best choice.

Best to read the forums and get the marketing/selling hints. A majority of ebid's traffic is off of google, then comes ebid people, old feebay customers, and your own marketing. i.e. With your website, you can set up a link to your ebid stores, which works well and your buyers can shop in both places.

Since you are NOT marketing primarily to feebay customers, keep that in mind in putting your listings together. More info, photos, etc are needed as well as good prices and fair shipping costs.

Someone is always here to help you. Don't be a stranger on the forums!

I am having the same problem, but am excited about the transfer. I like the ease of listing, but do not have a web site, to promote my sales.
I am a disabled senior who really enjoys on-line auction selling, and did it very successfuly until my ebay store was priced out of the market. So I too am looking for any advice, I think it is just a matter of time, before more people gravitate to ebid, in the meantime I have listed about 60 assorted items and plan to double that at least. Good luck. I had many very friendly and great customers in Australia, and hope they will follow me.
I think we all have to promote the site any way we can.
